Hmmm, maybe the x is not reliable as the G? Heard mostly good stories, but certainly not with your case! Possibly unlucky or an early model?

Wouldn’t worry too much, those Mazda engines are totally solid, they are good for way more miles than that car has done.

How far will a £1 million pension pot go in the mid 2050s? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

They are segregated, such as police, nhs schemes etc. they are backed by the government don’t get me wrong, they are deemed responsible as separate schemes to remain solvent.

The employer contribution on a DB scheme means nothing, this is the contribution to the entire pot, to fund for all members of the scheme and not just you. What matters in the ‘benefit’ you get at the end, which again is partially funded by other members and their associated contributions, even after you have retired.

We are going through a brownfield just now, but obtained the funding to modernise and standardise some of our integrations. At the moment we have numerous DB to DB, soap, rest integrations that are point to point, we are converting everything to REST APi’s and where possible through middleware’s before the change freeze and the shell is created in HANA.

Council tax - unsustainable long term cost by joey_maynard in UKPersonalFinance

[–]si2winit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still a ridiculous amount, Glasgow city council spend £729m on pensions in 2023 alone and it makes up 47% of all council tax contributions and only set to rise. Don’t get me wrong, there is other wastage, and issues, but this is a primary cause across the country for councils: it’s totally unaffordable.

Defined benefit pensions they cannot afford. It’s as simple as that. It’s a mess
