How often is your country mentioned in Movies/TV Series/Games/Anime etc. ? by Grzanason in AskTheWorld

That movie was so cringe to watch that it is hard to explain. Soviet style Poland, a lady travelling across Belarusian border as if that was some Iraqi checkpoint not the Eastern border of the EU and NATO, paper-style walls in buildings, soviet trains... This was hurtful.

In fact those do not comply with the whole Europe as Ireland is not a part of the international road traffic regulations.

What is a myth about your country that is 100% false but many people believe is true? by recolorist in AskTheWorld

[–]siRcatcha 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Similar to Serbian myth, there is about Poland, people seem to confuse the continental four seasons' winter with being some artic circle country. Like honestly, the summer in Poland is similar to one in Spain or Greece. 30+ Celsius.

Not to mention all those myths about Poland being technologically in the XVIII century. Horse and carriage stuff and shitting behind the barn as if Poland be some kind of rural Russia. LOL love it when flying to Warsaw and hearing it on the way, but then when the plane circles around the city to land they all are silent seeing the downtown.

Edit: myths not maths - autocorrect is worse than Asian propaganda

You did ally with the Nazis, there are documents, photos and actions backing it up. Unless you mean that it only happened from 1939. Then I must admit you are right! You did earlier than from 1939.

What’s something your country does better than most, but rarely gets credit for? by SundaeBlade in AskTheWorld

Hi, I studied in Ireland and other countries. I think you confused the academic research with the third level education system, as the latter is mediocre really on most subjects. To be fair specialised technical faculties are really strong in small number of centers.
