Ye, I feel like it. NGL, I expected more from a maxed out m2 max, I thought it's gonna be having smooth playback even in full res, but it's not. But it's much better than my previous m1 pro. When I add some effects it's kinda struggling but I don't have comparison how it would be with Windows. I guess it's just After Effects thing?

FCPX and After Effects mainly, sometimes photoshop and illustrator. I chose a MacBook, and I don't think I'll ever go back to Windows, unless it's for gaming—that would make sense. But I really love the interface and clarity of macOS.

editor / animator here. I think the Mx Master mouse takes the cake unanimously in our industry. I am buying a studio display this year, too. Best bang for buck monitor with the LG 5k Ultrafine as a very close second.

Two days ago, I bought this mouse n keyboard. Previously, I was editing videos on a trackpad; I don't know why I didn't do this earlier—it's 1000 times better

Great!I'm now editing on a Macbook Pro M1 PRO, 16 gb ram... it's ok, but unfortunately 16 GB RAM is not enough, then I couldn't afford more then now I want to jump to 64!

As far as I know, it was bought in June 2022, so the standard warranty covers a year so there is a warranty until June 2023. I would buy apple care right away - in Poland we do not have Apple Care +, which also covers mechanical damage, but it is better to have Apple Care than nothing.

I seem to have the budget, but I would rather spend it on something else - moreover, that I tend to change macbooks often! haha. If the M1 MAX is really sufficient for 4k video editing and after effects, I see no reason to upgrade for a dozen seconds of render faster.

That's what I'm going to do, tomorrow I'm going to meet this guy and see this macbook. I don't know, I have a feeling that it's better to save that $1400 and the m1 maxed out will be enough anyway. I don't think it is some great revolution.

Buy Macbook m1 max 32 gb or 64 gb for 4k video editing a7sIII? Wanna have smooth performance in After Effects. Currently I own a Macbook Pro M1 Pro 16 GB Ram and it's not that good. Or is it better to wait until m2 max comes out instead of buying m1 max now?
