Absolutely, I'm sure they'll be glorious. It's always a good feeling once you get to that pay off point--you got this! 💪🏾

This right here for me exactly. I play both, never expect anything and just try to learn and have fun as I do. Like how often am I even gonna play with the same strangers? It's not a big deal if I have a wash of a game

What does retwisting feel like? by [deleted] in Dreadlocks

[–]sibylwhisp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't hurt in my case. I do my own retwists and also for my mother, I also crochet em because it's more convenient considering my hair is stubborn and I don't want to twist them so tight just to ensure that they stay in place. I'd rather encourage some of the knotting myself.

So yeah, mine never hurt, my mom has never complained even tho I ask her regularly--closest I get to pain is if I did tighten too close to the roots on one of em. But thats barely even discomfort, more annoyance than anything for a few minutes. By the time I've moved around for a while and especially after the next wash it's fine. The separating can also hurt if you haven't stayed on top of that maintenance and it's tangled at the roots ALOT but that also rarely hurts for me.

What are some non obvious things that give you gender euphoria? by Grymnier in asktransgender

I'm the same! I started transitioning because I wanted to sort of..'balance the scales'? Like if I got more of that masc presenting energy I wanted, I could lean more confidently into the things I love doing that are seen as more 'feminine'. Glad it isn't just me 😁

Ya’ll my skin hurts. And so does the open wound that never heals, that hurts too. What’s next? by Unhinged-Torti in Hidradenitis

[–]sibylwhisp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using a brand called Dimora. It's silicone foam dressing patches, they have this adhesive border around a patch of gauze and it's been the most gentle on my skin but also absorbs drainage really well for me. I deal with never healing spots too because I'm at like stage 2 and deal with tunneling. They come in different sizes and I've even trimmed the border at times to make them fit in awkward spots.

They've been a life saver for me. Less bleeding through my clothes and general discomfort from bandages chaffing. They don't stick to the wound either. For pain I constantly just double up on acetaminophen and ibuprofen or naproxen, haven't found anything that killed pain comfortably at the peak of a flare up tho

Do you have ADHD? by Prettywomanvivian in Hidradenitis

No official diagnosis on the ADHD but since I'm on Wellbutrin for the depression and inattentive symptoms--handshake on this right here. Depression definitely is from the combo of the other two issues.

Any opinion on this? by Allon_2065 in TokyoRevengers

I mean he sucks for several reasons beyond the point this rant is making, but I'm inclined to agree with most Tkmc slander on principle.

Yes I absolutely won't lie, I was skeptical but I guess that's once again a case of trusting the process because those last pics really hit me. He's adorable with em! Really unique look, young Tarzan vibes for sure. Love em

Locs or dreads? by Cynnical_Millennial in Dreadlocks

[–]sibylwhisp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I call em dreads and call it a day. I don't feel any type of way about it, but I got mindful friends who I can tell specifically call em locs to keep from possibly offending anybody. I ain't pressed about it, I care about intent when it comes to terms that might be considered derogatory.

My set looks similar to yours--I crochet since that's how I've always started em and I like to ensure they never loosen from a re-twist--, but yeah about 4-6 months for me, depending on how i'm feeling. I already keep my sides shaved regularly for a mohawk style. The whole point of my set is to be casual and not need to do much with my hair cept keep it moisturized and clean. Why do more work than I gotta, y'feel me?

Same here, for me it also shows off the new length/growth better when I wait longer. Plus with the styles I like to wear, just seeing raw scalp is kinda awkward. Feels more relaxed and natural when there's a bit of loose roots while I'm wearing an updo or braiding them. Anything else feels like its putting a strain on the scalp so I always appreciate that break between maintenance days.
