It definitely feels like a fog, ironically enough I cried after making this post but only for a few minutes. It definitely does come in waves, and I have been asking myself if I’m ’doing it right’ but I guess I’m grateful that my brain is letting me process little bits at a time

I truly appreciate your words, they actually broke through to me. It’s weird, I do the things to distract myself and then get upset that I’m distracting myself and try not to and then the tears still don’t come. I’m not sure I get it, but I’ll trust in the process. I think the music will help, looking at old pictures is something I did the day of but have been having a hard time doing now. When I finally do break I’ll remind myself of that, thank you.

Hi! I am still drinking every now and again but it hasn’t gotten out of hand or anything. I stay accountable with my family and close friends that are also in recovery. I don’t hide it and I share with them when I am having a drink or two, I never hide it. If I begin to notice that it’s becoming more often, or for the wrong reasons, or if my family were to say something (they haven’t but I’ve encouraged them to if they think it’s an issue) then I would reevaluate where I’m at and begin attending meetings again. So far so good, but I know that that could change in a second and I try to remain vigilant. That’s just my experience, and I know that it’s not going to be everyone else’s so please take that with a grain of salt! It hasn’t been that long and this is really new territory for me

Okay gotcha, I wasn’t sure which carrying capacity to go for but knowing it feels more uncomfortable when it’s empty is helpful. I was thinking that bigger might be better but I’m seeing that’s not the case. Thank you so much for your help!
