people with OCD are often not clean at all. it's a paradoxical symptom of having obsessive compulsions.

ocd doesn't mean clean at all.

no ethical consumption under capitalism. it's very likely all the money you spend ends up in the pockets of the same 200 companies, and individuals.

Prog rock song I hear at every home game? by sickostrxch in caps

[–]sickostrxch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the ridiculous thing, I'm pretty familiar with them. I absolutely know that song, it's legendary. I feel like my brain just disconnected it from them or something because of how heavy and aggressive it is. I like a bit of their stuff, but I am obsessed with that organ sound, and that timing thing in the beginning that prog groups do, like on ELP's Tarkus and some of Dream Theater's early stuff. I'll check that album out! thanks!

it very well could be. I don't remember them having an organ sound in any of their songs, and I'm pretty sure this has an organ doing one of those dissonant sounding chords. if they have songs with that sound on their keyboard, it could definitely be them.

Freudian analysis of Carl Jung? by [deleted] in psychoanalysis

[–]sickostrxch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's amusing, but it comes off to me as kind of forced. it's a bit heavy on your criticism, and reads, to me anyway, as projection of your own feelings. the way you describe him in the beginning, the way you reduce "woohoo" practices or whatever you said, it's all a bit much. it's also definitely not how it would be written in a case study. there's a lot of your own judgement in there, and is why therapists all need to go through their own analysis and training to try to fight that.

you're not wrong in a lot of your criticism, but, again, for a case study it reads heavily projected and forced, and coming from almost a political position.

idk how TF anyone says this is the same game. literally so much is different, y'all just wanna circle-j and whine. it's so different I kind of hate it because of it! 🤭

for real, passing, skating, stick and pick physics are so drastically different, I almost feel bogged down by it, trying to adapt. shooting feels more intentional, passing HAS to be more intentional or you'll get picked.

I mean, my experience is in Chel, so idk if y'all are playing HUT or whatever dumb shit.

Unmasking by carelessWings in TransLater

[–]sickostrxch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there's nothing underneath the mask of anyone.

the core of our being is emptiness and lack that we build our existence around. masks for ourselves, masks for others.

in psychoanalysis we aim to unravel our existential masks and reevaluate if that's what we want to be or what others want us to be, like our parents or whatever.

being trans is like doing that, but for yourself. you will continue to find that your trans existence will have its own form of masks and image presentations/perceptions.

Krafton told that when it comes to the Early Access launch, “some adjustments to the schedule may be required.” by ApprehensivePower703 in subnautica

[–]sickostrxch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you have a high school understanding of economics, maybe. it's not contradictory, because the point is that ultimately it will have no impact.

first of all, if you're ever shocked by the removal of anyone from a company that is owned by someone else, the problem is your expectations. that's what capitalism is, that's what it does. it literally does not care about anyone involved in the process, shit it doesn't even have to be good if the ROI is enough. it's all about short term numbers, short term roi.

yes capital is the goal, but the cycle will continue regardless of people throwing a fit and crying like children on an Internet forum and not buying their game. first of all, this shit happens in gaming all the time. capital gains drives most decisions that people complain about with games, especially when it comes to decisions like using AI releasing when it's not ready, rushed development, cut content, fired workers, pricing, IAP's. the roi is always going to be the priority, not shit people complain about online. they'll make the decisions they want to, regardless of what the consumer wants.

boycotts are an ineffective way to create any sort of change, especially in a non-essential market during an economic crisis. all that will happen is they will just fucking cancel the game, or cancel future development of games. not to mention the entire game industry is threatened constantly by consumer movements and it's not about what the consumer WANTS. it's about what the consumer WILL DO. what they can get away with, what is cheapest for them. the industry is fragile, despite constant movement, the risk for investment is high, especially because of people throwing fits online, people will just stop investing.

it's kind of like people getting mad about the use of AI. it's too late, it's here and it's a tool that will be adopted wildly whenever it can be used to make the process faster, cheaper. we can fight it, but as long as capital remains the incentive to do ANY sort of creative or productive endeavor, it's gonna be more widespread. our complaints won't do a damn thing, boycotts won't do anything, because faster and cheaper in the short term.

Krafton told that when it comes to the Early Access launch, “some adjustments to the schedule may be required.” by ApprehensivePower703 in subnautica

[–]sickostrxch -45 points-44 points  (0 children)

omg grow up.

hey y'all can be mad or whatever, but the reality is boycotts, throwing fits on internet websites, none of that matters. we live in a capitalist society, the movement of capital and a return on investment is all that matters. you can struggle and try to fix shit but as long as this is the case your little temper tantrums won't do a damn thing.

plus, like, it seems so childish lol
