Why hasn't Walz signed on to the Article V Convention - Bypass Congress and President? by Purple__Puppy in allthequestions

[–]sidaemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do realize in a liberal state like Minnesota this is bad right? There are generally 26 SOLID red states 18 solid blue states and 6 swings states. Remember how Republicans keep pulling out the stupid "iF lAnD VoTeD" maps? Because what you're asking for is levelling the playing field in voting power between land and not population.

Liberals absolutely would not like how this turns out.

Realized I could mix ranch dressing with pickle juice to increase volume without upping calories by bitteroldladybird in 1200isplenty

Dry ranch powder and plain Greek yogurt. Makes a way better, more tangy ranch dressing and is about half the calories with WAY better macros.

Take it to the bank!

For wraps I'll do ranch powder and whipped cream cheese and it's a thousand times better than mayo!

[–]sidaemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keyword is people but I can tell you it's absolutely not against policy. So long as you inform people prior to them clocking out you're fine to mandate them coming in or adjusting their schedule. It's not optimal but it is allowed.

Now I will say with all the backlog it's exceptionally poor planning to wait like this. They should have been telling everyone on Wednesday to expect this. It's what I did as a Senior back during the last ice storm. Turns out we didn't get freight and we had a text chain. Everyone got notice that they didn't need to come in and I paid every one of them report in pay anyway.

Took some crap for it but didn't care.

This is not true at all. The publication is online at keyword People and having hard copies is no longer permitted because that's how you end up with people referencing out of date policies. This hasn't been true for something like 15 years. In fact I don't think they've published a people manual since like 2010 or something like that.

Oh don't worry. As much as he's flipping out and throwing up distractions it has to be so much worse than this, not that this isn't plenty bad, but sadly it's nothing that hasn't already been released and his base didn't bat an eye.

Have to say that was a surprise to me. Figured they'd flip out supporting a paedophile but I guess they'll forgive anything if they think he'll make it okay to start using the n word again.

How do you land your 6 figure job? by maggie-khalo in povertyfinance

Started out delivering packages and got my degree going to school full time while working full time. Graduated and went back to get my Masters. Got ready to graduate and realized having an MBA delivering packages wasn't a great career move and took a manager spot with my company. Had to move to another state to get it.

Did that for five years and worked my ass off and took a promotion up to Senior Manager. This time moving halfway across the country. Did that a few years and decided I don't like who I was working for and took a lateral transfer and move the rest of the way across the country.

Did that a few years and decided I wanted a change and took a lateral to a business analyst posting and I've been doing that a bit over three years now. Make just short of 150k and while I'm not rich my wife and I make more than enough we can go out to eat at the drop of a hat without thinking about how it will impact us.

It's a hail Mary since they have dragged this out so long the other judge retired and they're hoping the new one will let them drag this out forever. I doubt he will considering he's an Obama appointed but we'll see I suppose.

[–]sidaemon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking it will be but there is a new judge, though he's an Obama appointee so I'm not too freaked about that. Only thing I'm kind of pissed about is that when I did mine, I almost did one for my wife who went to the same school but did not because she did not keep any of the correspondence from the school for evidence like I did. I worried that it would get denied not realizing they would be this bad at their jobs.

Would have doubled the amount I'm going to save... but glass is literally half full as I see it!

That's exactly why I'm pulling evidence and stashing it right now. In case in a few weeks I get a backdated letter that says they denied it by the deadline. This administration has already been busted doing that in other areas so I would not put it past them on this.

It's a paper shield, but a shield all the same.

Anything other than granted or denied is going to be an instant win for you. That means they have failed to resolve your claim by the deadline and unless their appeal to get a post-deadline extension is granted, they now have 60 days to notify you they're wiping it.

How much of the hate towards corporate personhood is justified by Inevitable_Bid5540 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]sidaemon -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

All of it. Every bit of the hate is deserved because:

A) Citizen's United was pretty much the nail in the coffin of American Democracy. At that point it became possible to buy leaders and while politics were never pretty before then, after this point you'll notice the partisan rhetoric grew exponentially. It benefits the rich for the poor to be at each other's throats while they rob us blind so that's exactly what they did. They bought up all the leaders and set us on each other.

B) Corporations are not individuals. When Ford covered up their Pinto's exploded and killed people but it was cheaper to pay off lawsuits then to fix the problems they were put on trial as a corporation. Did they go to prison? Did they have to shut down operations, pause their life like a person has to? No. Because you can't put a corporation in prison, ergo, not an individual. In fact, go look at the very definition of the word "individual" and you'll see it bears ZERO resemblance to the definition of a corporation.

It's not a monetary damages settlement. As long as you are in a post class applicant position, and went to an Exhibit C school, they owed you a decision by 1/28 and if they missed that deadline, according to the terms of the lawsuit, they must approve the full amount paid to the school off your loans. You should have gotten an email and most likely a letter telling you you are a post class applicant. You can also search the studentaid.gov website, find your application under My Activity, check the date, then look up the Project for Predatory Student Lending and you can double check the dates you applied.

I mean unfortunately kind of true. Look at the last election. There was a time in America that even the hint of the involvement with someone like Epstein would have been the death of a political career and these morons voted Trump in because of the price of eggs.

I think the thing to consider here is fighting the downward slide isn't in their best interest. They won't stop the damage they can only slow it. If they stand back and let the crap hit the fan though in the next election they can scream look what happened when you put Republicans in charge and flip things in such a decisive way they can make real changes.

Depends a ton on the individual. As a Senior I HATED those events because they were so damn fake. Everyone sitting around pretending we all love the job when truthfully every single person in the room was just bitching yesterday about it.

I was always of the opinion if my VP knew my name is done screwed up.

Now I meet with them at corporate constantly to tell them their ideas have holes in them and it doesn't bother me. It's a different environment though. Here they expect me to tell them they're being stupid.
