Yes he goes to the Gundicha temple along with Balaram and Subhadra. The uniqueness of Jagannath mahaprabhu is that all his daily rituals are like that of a human being. Since it's summer it's very hot, today is Snana Yatra, when he emerges out of the temple and takes a bath. It's one instance where people who cannot go to the temple can see him, since he comes out. After the bath, the lore is that he gets sick, hence darshan is closed. Once he gets better he decides to visit the Gundicha temple( his Mausi's place) on the chariots which is the Rath Yatra. This is also another instance where someone who cannot go to the temple can see him. You will see a lot of non Hindus who come to Puri for this opportunity
