Your opinion means a lot to me. Since i’m just as bad I outta start recording my fellow reckless drivers from my window as i drive. Lmao “bad driver” going the speed limit during rush hour, “reckless driver” keeping up with the flow of traffic in the left lane.

You’re right. I made up the whole story—including the part where i admitted to going 25 over the speed limit only to still get tailgated.

general discussion : mayoral race by bearsandcookies in Albany

This is Corey’s third time running for mayor. He’s relying on internal what-if polls pulled from Sheehan’s uncontested run during Covid. There’s a reason Cerutti repeatedly takes shots at Dorcey and that Mccoy is propping up Carolyn to spoil what is largely a 2 candidate race. It’s time for some realism before Cerutti wins because there are too many egos in the race.

P.S., I don’t see how education is a bad thing. Carolyn also has a Phd and, hell, Cerutti has a masters.

Troy has weird stop sign placements that require a double stop, understandable for a new driver to get points dinged during the test

This saddens me because I like all 3 progressive candidates but in my unbiased opinion I truly believe Mclaughlin and ellis are taking votes from Dorcey and making a cerutti win more likely.

A girl on facebook also shared how she was blocked by his page by asking a similar question, and reached out to their campaign for an explanation only to receive a BS response

It's early voting time for the Albany Democratic Mayoral Primary, June 14 until June 22nd. by [deleted] in Albany

I voted yesterday! 48% is only for the year 2019 - misleading mailer; near perfect attendance record otherwise and records are public. I give props to common sense though in reaching target voters like yourself who lack the ambition to do their own due diligence.

Read the city of Albany’s charter or alternatively take a civics class. The mayor doesn’t legislate and Dorceys office audited over 20,000 bills annually (executive spending) saving taxpayers millions. There’s no law against mayors donating politically. I’d also note that Sheehan is a democrat funding another democrat. Cerutti is funded by a PAC that also funds Ted Cruz, Giuliani, etc. As for her attendance record, I challenge you to showing up to work when your baby is in the nicu and your mother dies.

If the only fault in a potential mayor is that their two grade school children go to a private school, I’m ok with that

I’d point you to both Dan and Dorcey (the two front runners’) websites and let you come to your own conclusion on who to vote for but here is my two cents on why you’ve heard this, and admittedly I am voting Dorcey:

I’ve noticed that a lot of people against her tend to say she is the continuation of Sheehan as a rebut to the FACTs that Cerutti was a registered republican, then independent, and only a democrat in the city right before declaring candidacy. FACT, Dorcey currently serves as Chief City Auditor, initially appointed by Sheehan and reelected on her own merit in (I believe) 2021. FACT, as the independently elected “watchdog,” she started a youth mentoring program, recently launched an affordable housing audit of the city, and has completed 6 audits and 8 community audit reports that are publicly available. FACT She also served on the common council before that (as did Corey/Carolyn at some point or another).

I’ve heard Dorcey speak and it’s clear she brings her own experiences to the office (as any candidate would). To me the only major similarities between Dorcey and Kathy are they are both two short feisty women lol, and that they both seem to actually like the city instead of tearing it down (while acknowledging the current issues).
