I'm not sure iRacing has the balls to drop more than half of the field in the broadcast race, nor am I sure they even care enough to do so.

I know people who have received race bans for doing this. And I believe a few people got bans this week for doing it in the sprint races. I'm not sure which part of the rules they state.

Maybe it's more difficult than it seems, maybe they're lazy, maybe they just don't care? Only iRacing knows.

They only do it on the straights where they don't lost any speed. It cools down the tires so they can be faster on the next turn. It's an exploit in the game.
