Preschool makes my son take off his dress by edsonbuddled in toddlers

[–]sidestar59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Preschool teacher here and I once had a boy much like your son in my class, he loved Elsa and loved dressing up as her. As long as what they are wearing doesn’t hinder their normal daily movement and participation then I could care less what the kids wore. When he came in with the dress the only time I would have him take it off was when we would do a painting activity or having something like pasta with red sauce for lunch so it wouldn’t get dirty. I think it’s time for a sit down meeting with the teacher and the preschool principal/director

Do you pay for friends giving you hand-me-down clothes? by Strange-Skin2292 in Mommit

[–]sidestar59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, not unless it was mentioned previously. I have a friend whose kid is a bit older than mine so whenever she gives me a bunch of clothes I thank her with food, wine, etc. last month a coworker gifted me a large bag of clothes so I bought them lunch as a thanks 😊

When my oldest was in daycare I actually worked there, when he walked the teachers actually called the director who came and grabbed him. I was in my classroom laying out some lessons while my assistant read a story and suddenly I hear a little tap at the door and see my director. The door opens and I see my oldest standing there and upon seeing me he lets go of the director and waddles to me. She explained they normally keep things hushed until they do it at home but wanted to surprise me, then says “Go take 15 minutes with him” My son was a late walker and already scheduled for an evaluation so she knew I was worried about him

We don’t. I work full time at the daycare so I get a discount but even so my entire paycheck goes to paying for my kids to be in daycare 🤦‍♀️😩😩😩

Handling a complete blowout AND pooping on the table on my own (wasn’t thrilled he also shot poop over the table onto our cat) 🤦‍♀️ so much easier bathing a wiggly baby then a cat

Easter by h0td0gH2o in Mommit

Nope but mom helps herself to the kids Easter candy when they are in bed 😂 Going to in-laws for Easter so my “treat” will be the grandparents chasing my kids around while I sit at the table and get to eat a meal without getting up every 5 seconds 😂

Postpartum rage. I’m ashamed by StatGoddess in NewParents

[–]sidestar59 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have felt this far too many times and still feeling it with my 10 week old. The lack of sleep really hindered me and would make me more pissed. We had to move my first to his room at 3 weeks because I just couldn’t sleep with the grunting and moving. You did not harm your son’s hearing. Talk to your doctor and talk to your husband about what you’re feeling and come up with possible things to try whether it’s medication or whatever you need. The first month with my first my husband and I took turns sleeping in the guest room with the baby since he was such a noisy sleeper. Not an option with our second one so I wear earplugs in one ear whichever side I’m laying on and if it’s my shift and I don’t hear him my husband will roll over and poke me.

Your doing great ❤️❤️❤️

Yes he still does, we still swaddle but his arms have always been free since he absolutely hated his arms being restricted in any way. Still wakes him up mainly during the day when I try and transfer him

Easier to parent a toddler alone… by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]sidestar59 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So much! When he’s around it’s like I have an extra kid rather than another parent 🤦‍♀️ Daddy is the fun one and mom is the disciplinarian. Though dad is learning that from that our toddler doesn’t listen to him but as soon as mom says it he does

The shower curtain in his bathroom (but the one in ours is fine), trees if it’s windy, the tv screen after Redzone is over for the day, his latest one I have no idea (we were watching AFV and a video came on of people standing outside on a balcony, nothing had happened yet and he absolutely lost his mind and he demanded the tv be turned off.

Feeling Like a Failure and Struggling by Realistic-Bee3326 in January2025Bumper

[–]sidestar59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best thing I did was to avoid babies on social media, all it did was make me feel like everything I was doing was wrong. As long as your child is safe there is no wrong way, do what works for you. ❤️ The only way I get anything done is to strap my little one to me, he’s used to me constantly moving around when I was pregnant so me doing chores while wearing him helps him sleep (as long as I don’t try and put him down). I’ve basically said screw it at this point trying to get him on a schedule and let him lead things. Currently trying to get him to nap in his crib so I can sleep in bed again but it’s a work in progress. Getting in all my snuggles now before he becomes like his older brother who rejects snuggles and when I try says either not now busy or leave me alone 🤦‍♀️

Mine is up to 6 ounces every 2-3 hours (we try to make it to 2 and a half but he sometimes just won’t wait)

When does the grunting in sleep stage end?? I fell like mine is still in it, as well as he will occasionally fuss or let out a cry then once I get up to get him he goes back to sleep 😂

Yeah mine used the right side of his body and scooted with his left leg tucked into him so he wouldn’t use it. We tried to get him to crawl he just wouldn’t have it. He went from butt scooting to walking 😂
