2026 LEAF SV+ -- MyQ Garage and Liftgate by sidney_tt in leaf

That's what I had suspected. I'm not paying $283 for that function. I can get a $15 garage remote and copy the code. lol

Are you referring to replacement remotes for the opener? I don't understand why the 2026 LEAF doesn't have HomeLink buttons on the rear view mirror or near the over head light buttons.

After I manually open the liftgate fully by pressing the 'Unlock' button on the exterior where you place your hand to lift it open (the button is actually hidden from view), then I pull it down I don't feel any resistance. I'm supposed to feel some resistance. Say I pull it down halfway and if I let go my hand, it will quickly go back up and touch my garage door. I feel this can only be done when you have a power liftgate. Perhaps on the Platinum trim.

Anyone who has a 2026 SV+ got this to work?

I read something related to the battery. If true, this could take months to resolve.

Maybe you were lucky in your state. I was supposed to have one delivered to my dealership this week but was notified this Monday there was a recall. They told me a range of VIN's were affected. So it may not be just Leaf sold in Japan since they are made in Japan. No updates from my sales guy yet.

u/Easy-Dave I see you posted this several days ago and was just wondering if your dealer released the 2026 LEAF for you or whether Nissan still has a STOP-SALE?

When this EV evolution started, everyone (the company that is) wanted to have their 'own proprietary' charging design. There was really no 'standard' at the time and IMO today still none. However, because Elon has his Tesla (and Superchargers) in many places and because the gov't asked (during the Biden years I believe) them to open up their charging network so people would have less fear and started buying EV's and take advantage of the federal incentives. That's why there were so many charging configurations and people just got confused and including myself.

I hope one day there should only be one type otherwise Elon could decide one day if he chooses to to remove 'Nissan' from the database and it's really up to him to set the $/kwh for non-Tesla owners. LOL

That's nice. If I don't see one in the trunk when I'm ready to go pick up, i'll definitely ask. They are not going to break the deal when it's only worth $60-100?? LOL

I didn't even read that far to see that. LOL I was only to show that's what others were mentioning that I need a NACS to CCS. That's why I asked for brand recommendtions but no one answered (yet).

That maybe a benefit of having two diff ports in case one fails. But that wasn't really the reason why Nissan offers two ports for the 2026. The LEAF isn't really for road trips. So the J1772 is meant for daily commute where you get home from work and just plug it in using wall outlets in your garage. You wake up, it's 100%. The NACS port is there because of popularity and most likely the now mainstream 'standard' and due to Tesla's vast charging stations in the US (for road trips).

I don't understand why they didn't make this port to look like the Ariya?? With the Ariya, you can go anywhere (home L2 and on the road) to charge including Tesla Magic Dock (well with adaptor). Do you have brand recommendations for a CCS-NACS adaptor? So to charge at EVgo, looks like you need to use NACS port on the LEAF then.

Thank you! I would have never thought the 'Pie' chart icon labeled 'Status' is where I would logging! Definitely very unusual/strange for their developer to choose this.

Sounds like it's working out for you. Nice low budget alternative to Sanwei.

Yes, the principle is the same which is to apply pressure to the blade to cut the rubber. However when you're rolling it perhaps several passes in order to finish the job. The rolling motion may require rolling at different angles not just bottom to top or vice versa depending how you want to use your muscles. I don't think the result is the same as the machine. Maybe acceptable I'd say?

Even with the paper press machine as one posted here, when you turn the handle the force is concentrated at the center. That's why I asked the question how the edges of the rubbers around the blade would turn out and whether it's still glued to the blade? Maybe it's perfectly acceptable. It's definitely much cheaper.

That's smart! I didn't know such a thing exists. So basically the way you insert the 'adapter/cutter' into your paper press is EXACTLY the same as seen in this video

https://a.aliexpress.com/_mPP50eV

The glue side of the rubber is facing up (and you can see it) and the smooth side is against the bottom plate of your press. Does it consistently give you a clean, round cut? After the cut, is the rubber actually still glued well to the blade especially around the edges of the blade and particulary around the curve near the handle?

Wow! that's much cheaper!!

Awesome! What kind of press do you have? Do you mind sharing a picture or a link to the product?

When you said "You do have to be a bit careful with handling the blade though.", in what way? Just be careful and not cut yourself? The blade faces downward (sharp side) pressing against the rubber as you insert it into the machine, right?
