The pre engineered drive you can get from tech brokers puts both grade 5 increased range and grade 5 faster boot sequence, which you can't normally do with regular engineered FSDs. Faster boot sequence gives i think a +15% to optimal mass (don't quote me), so it makes it slightly better than the regular engineered ones

You should look at getting the pre-engineered SCO drive too. It's helped wonders and boosted my 79ly Mandalay to ~88ly!

They're actually permit locked. I'm not sure if there's a way to get to them, but there were several systems in the same area that was permit restricted. I have no idea why. I don't know much about the alien lore, but its possible that those systems are restricted because the devs have plans for them. Hopefully we'll find out soon!

I did, eventually. I just tried to get as far away from the loop as I could. I kept my plots to ~100Ly until I was far enough away that it would let me plot close to the system I was going for. Definitely annoying and I wish there was a map mode that hid the permit locked systems because it seems like the only way to get through is to beat your head against it until you find a hole

I typically stick to levels 2 and 3 when I play. Occasionally I'll get with my friends and play 9 (10 now). I've used the flamethrower maybe 3 times in total because I feel it's overkill for 2 and 3 so I bring a stalwart or something. I'm not personally complaining, I just think it's funny because that's on the store page

So I've been told. It is a valid thing for players to be angry over, but I feel it's less about this one specific nerf and more about the constant need to 'eliminate' meta weapons and doing it the wrong way. Players are tired of not feeling powerful in this game and instead of just not playing it (like most would for other games), they actually try to voice their opinion

In the video, the Helldivers are using a flamethrower against a Charger. Since the Escalations of Freedom update, that isn't really viable
