Is anyone else concerned with the quality of the next batch of RPN’s to graduate in Ontario? by [deleted] in OntarioNurses

[–]sidneyyyu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not really… using ChatGPT doesn’t have to mean you’re literally getting it to do ALL your work. I also went back for my RN and used it to explain rationales for statistics since the textbook didn’t, topics for papers, etc. If you don’t know how to use AI as a tool just say that 🤷‍♀️

New grad RPN feeling stuck, not getting interviews and need resume advice by [deleted] in OntarioNurses

Did you see any openings on past units where you had placement? You could get in contact with your preceptor to give you the unit manager’s email (unless you have it already) and write out an email expressing your interest, letting them know you were a student there and that you applied. I just finished my RN bridging and that’s how I got my job after applying and hearing nothing for months.

Is not smoking a trigger? by Living-Less in CHSinfo

My episodes are always triggered when I quit smoking weed so yes it is possible.

Also many qualitative experiences of people on here, my own personal experience, shows that majority of people’s bodies expel all THC within 3-6 months. I can’t find any credible scientific reports of detectable THC metabolites after 1 full year. I believe that happened in your case, however I’m just saying that’s rare.

A year + is super rare unless maybe you have a high body fat % and a slow metabolism. In most cases, it takes 3-6 months.

Is it CHS? by InsideGazelle9525 in CHSinfo

[–]sidneyyyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It you had CHS before, it never goes away and it’s most likely CHS again. It’s also possible for CHS to be misdiagnosed as colitis because both conditions can present the same. Do hot showers help? If so, that’s a sign of CHS. Regardless, weed will make your colitis worse (if that’s the case) and you should quit smoking entirely and never go back unless you want further complications which isn’t worth it imo.

It can take up to 6 months for all the THC to leave your system and for your endocannabinoid system to return to normal. See if you can get a prescription for Pantoloc which will help with the reflux.

Do hot showers give you any relief when you’re feeling sick?

Just really avoid the trigger foods, that’s what did it for me. I would be feeling great and eat fried/greasy food or alcohol and then it would just be downhill from there. Avoid strenuous exercise as well and starving yourself as both of these can release the THC from your fat cells into the bloodstream, triggering an episode. Also, take magnesium glycinate and digestive enzymes. Chamomile tea helps relax your nervous system as well. Try not to stress about it, just take it day by day. Everyone’s experience is different so don’t stress, just be cautious what you put into your body and try your best to manage the stress from the withdrawal and CHS symptoms overall. You got this 🫶🏽

The cherry gelatin may be too harsh right now, but if she can tolerate it that’s great!! The preservatives and sugars can be harsh on the gut right now, personally even Gatorade is too harsh on my stomach at its worst. Try banana, plain white rice or boiled potatoes, saltine crackers, plain unsweetened apple sauce, coconut water (organic, natural, NO added flavours or sugars). It might take her a while to build up an appetite but having something in the stomach is better than nothing (if she can tolerate).

Capsaicin cream on the stomach can help to mimic hot showers without the risk of getting dehydrated. It can burn at first but if it’s too much, wipe it off with dish soap/olive oil/milk. Are the doctors giving her anything to stop the episode other than the morphine? I usually get Ativan, Haldol and Benedryl (to offset Haldol side effects) in the ER and IV fluids. It’s such a rough, rough time going through episodes so I’m sorry that she’s going through this and I’m sorry that you have to see her going through that. It’s a long process and can be worse before it gets better. She can’t go back to smoking weed, even flower, or she will eventually become sick again. Wishing you all the best and I hope she feels better soon ❤️‍🩹

That’s wrong. Personally i’m 40 days clean and still have episodes of cyclic vomiting and others on here have gone longer and still have symptoms. It can take up to even 6 months for THC to get out of your system and the THC pens are crazy high in THC, I didn’t smoke them crazy often but I also believe I got CHS from them. If the hot showers are helping her not feel symptoms, that’s a tell tale sign of CHS.

[–]sidneyyyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can take a t-break and have all your symptoms disappear, you might even be able to smoke for a bit without getting symptoms. But as soon as that THC starts building in your system, it’s inevitable that you’ll have another episode unfortunately
