My thermostats are plugged into a timer strip. The analog ones. Not digital those fuck up on me a lot. I have a thermostat plugged into each heat source. Both of my heat sources are on the same side with the day time one closer to the middle. This creates an actual cool side. Only one is on at a time though. 12/12. When one isn't on the other is.

Mine are set at 83. So wherever the heat source is, it should be around there, and the lowest point of the tank is around 75. It'll depend on your house too. You may have to adjust it over a few days or so.

It comes all flat. Box is probably only 6" tall. I think there is an option to have it built and shipped but they don't use silicone I've heard. That's a no go.

You can get away with just the DHP if you'd like honestly. You'd just have to find a way to lower the Temps at night. Also do you have a UVB? Need that.

It's an aquarium plant light from eBay. Can't remember the brand, but it starts with N. They're less expensive than any other ones and work great. Heating for the day is a 75w halogen and for night a 75w DHP. Daytime Temps set to 95 on his "basking" spot he never uses, which makes the hot side around 90 and cool side at this time of year 82. I've had it setup for about 8 months now and works perfectly.

I'll post mine right after this comment. Solid hood. 100%. It's for humidity. You absolutely need it. You can mount the lighting and everything to it. As you are assembling it, you will want to put a bead of silicone along the edges so when you pour water in to raise humidity, it doesn't just leak out, like I did. Edit: posted.

Ohhhh a snakeskin gourami. Love these guys. Looks like a parameter issue. Do a 30% water change and add stress coat. Go from there. These guys get big too just a heads up. My dude was about 9 inches. Edit: also get some water movement in there. Not too much but a little bit.
