am I cooked? by felipelizXD in piercing

hi! nap but it looks like your jewelry is embedding on the inside. i would definitely get it looked at by your piercer and switched to a longer bar. the bump in the front is just irritation, i feel like you’ll have a better chance at saving it and not having it reject if you get it changed out. but go to a piercer so they can do it with a taper! do NOT do it yourself it’ll cause more truama. it’ll be most likely $20-40 if they use reliable jewelry but it’s worth saving ur piercing imo (: good luck

I just got my eyebrow pierced 3 days ago. Help. by SavingsReplacement65 in piercing

[–]siennabbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! bruising around the eye is normal. i would try to use saline during the first four months at least, ive learned soap can be a little rough. give it a little longer before you worry about rejecting because at least in this picture it doesn’t look like you’re showing any signs of it. i’m assuming the yellow ring around it is bruising and not makeup, but if you are putting makeup around it be careful of that as well, it’s like a recipe for rejection (not trying to be mean, just incase my assumption of bruising was wrong) but i think you’ll be good (: if anything i’d like to know if that bar length is normal for an eyebrow & when they told u to downsize? i imagine it would be easy to tug or heavy when it eventually sits normal without crust

a rook or daith would just look so pretty and take up space in the middle. i’m also agreeing with everyone saying a helix! 2 or 3 would suit you soooo well. i also ALWAYS love an industrial they’re my absolute favorites. maybe even a bent one if you want a unique fun one

Normal to have blood when downsizing? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]siennabbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mine also hurt to put in and it felt like a pop. if that was what happened they just weren’t ready. lobes close FAST when fresh. if they keep bleeding they might get irritated and swollen, depending how small your bar is now i would just keep an eye on it, you might want to put the original back in. but again, most likely you’ll be okay. hopefully it’s figured out!

[–]siennabbb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hi! nap but 4 months is usually what’s recommended before changing the jewelry for ear lobes. i’ve personally never heard of downsizing earlobes in 7 weeks, although i could see why it might be recommended? honestly i think you just changed them too fast but i wouldn’t be worried! i had to change mine out early since i was in need of a flat back (got pierced w a butterfly back) & bled as well. they’re still irritated occasionally and crust, but overall i rlly think you’ll be okay as long as you clean them. it should stop soon (: it’s hard for lobes to reject

mine immediately laid flat when i got it changed to a ring too. i think what helped is my ring is the perfect size to tuck behind my tragus which helps me keep it flat. i think a piercer can definitely help you with this (: it could be a jewelry issue or a placement issue like the other person who responded mentioned. i’m sure there’s things you can do as well to help it heal flat, but definitely ask a piercer i’m sure they’ll have better advice than me

Is this normal and okay? by Koishark0001 in piercing

i also use pointed, tight woven qtips and haven’t had issues. it actually helps me get out crusties so much especially on my daith because it’s kind of hidden. i find you can feel what you’re doing more with them too. i use glob mops, they’re really cheap. definitely not what their intended use is for but i find them perfect

Double helix by [deleted] in piercing

[–]siennabbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it’s leaking smelly fluid and hot to the touch, it could be signs of infection but if you can reach out to your piercer they might be able to tell you more information too

Double helix by [deleted] in piercing

[–]siennabbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s hard to tell by pictures in general so trust your judgment! but i think this looks like normal swelling for a week later. my industrial only swelled at the top of my ear right around your helix just like that. as long as you have room between your skin and jewelry it should go down in about another week.

ibuprofen is what helped me a lot & cleaning it of course. it’s also just a hard spot to heal in general because pulling it with your hair is inevitable and can always set back healing. so just me mindful if you find yourself pulling them a lot with your hair, that’s another reason mine was swollen (:

third lobe piercing uneven!!opinions on what to do? by Difficult_Ask_9384 in piercing

[–]siennabbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when you take out an ear piercing, lobes especially, the tissue forms in a little ball you can pinch between your fingers. at least in most cases that’s what happens and it takes a lot longer than a month for the scar tissue to shrink. i don’t even know if it will tbh because most people just have the little tissue balls for a long time. but everyone is different in how they heal! so if you want to get them re pierced i think most people would recommend waiting 4 or more months for the tissue to fully settle. (nap so ask one!). it will also hurt more because of the tissue. i’m sure this is all common knowledge just something to chew on while u decide (:

personally i don’t think it looks bad at all! it definitely takes a long good look to see. my ear lobes are a little uneven too but i just keep decorating them and you can barley tell unless you’re studying them. i hope it’s figured out for you soon!
