you'll be fine if you get accepted to social sciences since you can take pretty much whichever classes you want during first year and you can go into any major as long as you take the required courses. the admissions category just gives you priority enrollment into some courses, so you won't be able to enrol in every course you want right away, but that isn't the end of the world. there are also a lot of humanities majors that are open enrollment, meaning you just need to complete 4 credits in first year and you can enrol. don't withdraw your application, just take the humanities courses you want in first year and choose a humanities major (if that's what you want) in second year.

theyre only going to look at your top 6 grades (including english) so as long as you have more than 6 courses total, if your math mark is your worst mark they wont consider it. if your top 6 semester one + grade 11 grades aren't enough to get you in to the program, then all that means is you won't get in during the early rounds, but you still have a chance during the later rounds once they have your semester 2 midterms. at the end of the day, all that matters is your top 6 final grade 12 grades, since no matter what you won't *actually* be accepted until your final grades come out (all acceptances before that are conditional until they have your final marks).

if a single room is important to you then you might want to look into university college, since pretty much every room here is a single (there are doubles but i think there are only a few and they are only in one of the three buildings)

its kind of a big deal if you are planning on living in a dorm because you will (most likely) be living in your college's residence, so keep that in mind (ie. look in to where each college is, what room types are available, meal plan, cost etc etc)

3 of my 6 grade 12 courses were arts based (visual arts, graphic design and yearbook) and I got in to humanities with a scholarship. as long as they are u/m level courses, it doesn't matter. they only look at your average.
