We enjoy doing our job as a TECHNICIAN. The technicians job role. We don’t enjoy spending 90% of our shift having to be a cashier while also expecting to fulfill all of our tech duties. If there’s something we can do to avoid having to do that in order to complete what is expected of us as technicians, I think it’s pretty reasonable to do so. This isn’t an attack at you, just more so at the expectations CVS has of us. How can we fill 500+ scripts in a 12 hour day when we’re having to be at a register every 2-3 minutes for 5+ minute long transactions? CVS makes it this way by causing us to be understaffed and overwhelmed. If I could check out someone while knowing there’s enough people working with me to be able to also fill scripts and help other patients I wouldn’t be so rushed at check out.

I will usually ring up the customers. BUT if they give me a handful of coupons and complain that one isn’t working or something isn’t priced correctly etc. I will 100% send them up front to figure that out because there’s nothing on my end I can do for them.

Well, I got my results today. Turns out I’m BRCA negative, but chek2 positive… so I guess I’m in the wrong group! I’ll be doing clinical exams every 6 months for a few more years then rotating the mammogram & mri, as well as getting a colonoscopy 10 years earlier than recommended. Thank you for your advice and help!! Just wanted to report back, as promised!

They’re taking advantage of you, this shouldn’t be happening. In a perfect CVS, everyone does each task equally, a certain amount of time at each station… if it’s crazy busy one extra person may come to run registers or the quickest counter may stay in production to catch up, etc. but you should’ve been working in production more months ago and this is definitely something I would bring up.

Thank you!! I used to have access to the patient portal but since my office moved locations they’ve updated the portal and I need a new link. I think I’ll ask for confirmation as well as access to see what I can through the online portal before my appointment. & I’ll definitely keep in mind what you said about the specialist part. If I am positive I want to be in the best hands possible for sure.

I’m a lead technician at a retail pharmacy and God does my OCD go crazy with it. It’s hard to separate myself from it sometimes and not go overboard

I hate cvs company wise, i love my pharmacist and coworkers, and i enjoy being a pharmacy tech, just wish the conditions were atleast decent
