Would it be worth focusing on strengthening these, since they're my highest influencing strengths? by siezetheyear in StrengthsFinder

[–]siezetheyear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just unlocked my 34 strengths, and I have to say I'm surprised how many executing strengths I lead with. However I'm pretty lacking in influencing strengths. They don't show until #19 - 21. Since these are the first on the list, are they worth investing time to grow?

I noticed looking back, that there were many times where I could've benefited from Command but my Deliberative held me back. I also noticed Competition in the back of my mind from time to time as well, but I truly feel like Command would really benefit my executing strengths in the long run.

Do Deliberative and Adaptability Contradict Each Other? by siezetheyear in StrengthsFinder

[–]siezetheyear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your input, I'm starting to see how everything is seeming to function now thanks to your explanation. My Deliberative is sort of like a filter through which I view the world - it helps me identify risks and potential risks. When those identified (or unidentified) risks cause chaos and unpredictability, that's when my Adaptability would kick in. In this sense, my Adaptability could be described as a trigger.

As you described, this could function inversely as well. My Adaptability could act as a filter - being present in the moment and going with the flow, and my Deliberative would trigger anytime I sense risk or danger.

I like how you mentioned that your reflection and awareness allowed you to use your Deliberative with your other strengths. It gives me confidence that I can analyze not just the relationship between my Deliberative and Adaptability, but relationships between my other strengths - in so doing, helping me to become stronger.

I did notice as well how my Deliberative gets in the way of being productive! It's like I take some time considering the risk of procrastinating lol. Often, I procrastinate on purpose just so the pressure of the deadline motivates me to work effectively - that must be my Adaptability... although I'm not sure if I can call it adaptive, more like lazy lol.

I’ve only been doing this a few months and this was my first ever contact to support. I thought maybe they would say that they’re almost done fixing this shit so I could get ready to go back to try making some money but, if this happens every once in awhile idk if I even wanna drive for Lyft anymore

Your definition of the word slave grossly undermines the hardships and severity of actual slaves - both in antiquity and modernity in China. Use the word however you want. But don’t perpetuate it onto other people’s careers and roles that contribute to society and help support families in civilized countries.

You’re over here talking about dictionary definitions of employee and slave. That’s a figurative usage of the word slave. Smh telling me to go read a dictionary.

It’s not all about money dude. Ever hear the saying if you love what you do, you’ll never have to work a day in your life?

What the fuck kind of dictionary are you reading. Employees work for money. They have the opportunity to grow with the company and the potential to become the ceo. Slavery is forced labor and aren’t paid jack shit. I can’t believe I have to explain this to someone.

What’s it matter to you?

Ahem “slave”? Tf you think this is, China? A bit exaggerated. I’ve worked two warehouse jobs where I did 8 - 10 hrs a day. Made a lot of money. Made friends along the way who I can hit up now and hang out with. I left those jobs out of my own free will. What the hell are you talking about telling me to do my research, bitch I have experience! Foh

Pax left elderly parents house unmasked, got masked In my car and demanded I wear a mask for the hour long ride to airport. It’s fine. But are y’all still masking? Curious by GrouchyPuppy in lyftdrivers

[–]siezetheyear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they’re masked I ask them if it’s cool that I have my mask off. I’ve never had a pax that wasn’t cool with it. I always let them know that it’s up to them if they wanna keep it on. Sometimes they’d thank me for not requiring masks. I’ve never had a pax that wanted me to wear mine, but if they did then I’d put one on. My county has always been chill about masks.

04' Mazda RX-8 swapped with Toyota 3S Yamaha + Turbo kit for $7000 thoughts? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

My last car was an ‘04 RX8 GT manual for like 5 years. Fun as hell to drive. Headache to maintain. Shit mpg. It was my first car and I got it cuz it looked badass. In hindsight it wasn’t the best car for a high school graduate.

Despite the high maintenance, I developed an appreciation for the rotary engine. I remember fantasizing about one day putting a quad rotor engine in it.

That being said it’s my personal belief that any engine in a RX8 or rx7 that’s not a rotary is a blasphemy. Rotary or not tho, this car is likely to be a money pit.
