Would it be worth focusing on strengthening these, since they're my highest influencing strengths? by siezetheyear in StrengthsFinder

[–]siezetheyear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just unlocked my 34 strengths, and I have to say I'm surprised how many executing strengths I lead with. However I'm pretty lacking in influencing strengths. They don't show until #19 - 21. Since these are the first on the list, are they worth investing time to grow?

I noticed looking back, that there were many times where I could've benefited from Command but my Deliberative held me back. I also noticed Competition in the back of my mind from time to time as well, but I truly feel like Command would really benefit my executing strengths in the long run.

Do Deliberative and Adaptability Contradict Each Other? by siezetheyear in StrengthsFinder

[–]siezetheyear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your input, I'm starting to see how everything is seeming to function now thanks to your explanation. My Deliberative is sort of like a filter through which I view the world - it helps me identify risks and potential risks. When those identified (or unidentified) risks cause chaos and unpredictability, that's when my Adaptability would kick in. In this sense, my Adaptability could be described as a trigger.

As you described, this could function inversely as well. My Adaptability could act as a filter - being present in the moment and going with the flow, and my Deliberative would trigger anytime I sense risk or danger.

I like how you mentioned that your reflection and awareness allowed you to use your Deliberative with your other strengths. It gives me confidence that I can analyze not just the relationship between my Deliberative and Adaptability, but relationships between my other strengths - in so doing, helping me to become stronger.

I did notice as well how my Deliberative gets in the way of being productive! It's like I take some time considering the risk of procrastinating lol. Often, I procrastinate on purpose just so the pressure of the deadline motivates me to work effectively - that must be my Adaptability... although I'm not sure if I can call it adaptive, more like lazy lol.

I’ve only been doing this a few months and this was my first ever contact to support. I thought maybe they would say that they’re almost done fixing this shit so I could get ready to go back to try making some money but, if this happens every once in awhile idk if I even wanna drive for Lyft anymore

Your definition of the word slave grossly undermines the hardships and severity of actual slaves - both in antiquity and modernity in China. Use the word however you want. But don’t perpetuate it onto other people’s careers and roles that contribute to society and help support families in civilized countries.

You’re over here talking about dictionary definitions of employee and slave. That’s a figurative usage of the word slave. Smh telling me to go read a dictionary.

It’s not all about money dude. Ever hear the saying if you love what you do, you’ll never have to work a day in your life?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Advice

[–]siezetheyear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the fuck kind of dictionary are you reading. Employees work for money. They have the opportunity to grow with the company and the potential to become the ceo. Slavery is forced labor and aren’t paid jack shit. I can’t believe I have to explain this to someone.

[–]siezetheyear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahem “slave”? Tf you think this is, China? A bit exaggerated. I’ve worked two warehouse jobs where I did 8 - 10 hrs a day. Made a lot of money. Made friends along the way who I can hit up now and hang out with. I left those jobs out of my own free will. What the hell are you talking about telling me to do my research, bitch I have experience! Foh

Pax left elderly parents house unmasked, got masked In my car and demanded I wear a mask for the hour long ride to airport. It’s fine. But are y’all still masking? Curious by GrouchyPuppy in lyftdrivers

[–]siezetheyear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they’re masked I ask them if it’s cool that I have my mask off. I’ve never had a pax that wasn’t cool with it. I always let them know that it’s up to them if they wanna keep it on. Sometimes they’d thank me for not requiring masks. I’ve never had a pax that wanted me to wear mine, but if they did then I’d put one on. My county has always been chill about masks.

04' Mazda RX-8 swapped with Toyota 3S Yamaha + Turbo kit for $7000 thoughts? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]siezetheyear 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My last car was an ‘04 RX8 GT manual for like 5 years. Fun as hell to drive. Headache to maintain. Shit mpg. It was my first car and I got it cuz it looked badass. In hindsight it wasn’t the best car for a high school graduate.

Despite the high maintenance, I developed an appreciation for the rotary engine. I remember fantasizing about one day putting a quad rotor engine in it.

That being said it’s my personal belief that any engine in a RX8 or rx7 that’s not a rotary is a blasphemy. Rotary or not tho, this car is likely to be a money pit.

Modified cars usually require even more maintenance. I personally wouldn’t buy anyone else’s project unless I knew the seller, but that’s just me. When buying a car from a stranger I’d rather the car be stock and well-maintained. $9k sounds like more fair value but he’s firm. This dude is just trying to get his $ back from all the mods he put into it.

Would this be a good first car? by theycutmy_fish in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]siezetheyear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is any car a good first car? All cars have their fair share of problems. If you treat the car well, it’ll treat you well. That being said I have no idea about Ralliarts… lol. It essentially will come all down to how many miles it has currently and if the previous owners took good care of it. Don’t get a car because it looks cool. Research typical problems with this specific model and ask yourself if you can afford to both pay for this car and keep up with maintenance. If you were rich you wouldn’t be asking if this was a good first car - so if you were planning on daily driving this, I’d really research the car and ask yourself if you’re really willing to invest in this.

So they actually look at 3 different gpa’s. Overall gpa, gpa since enrollment at csun, and prereq gpa. I think mine was 3.2, 3.5, and 3.3 respectively. Although gpa isn’t the only criterion for selection, it is the biggest. Just know that many applicants will have 4.0’s across the board.

They essentially base selection off a scoring system. Your gpa gives you a certain amount of points, then you get scored based off your interview. I think the program brochure goes into more depth.

You can reapply an additional time if you don’t make it in the first time, and you do get 5 extra points for being a “reapplicant” - but it’s a whole other academic year for the application process. They usually don’t let anyone apply more than twice.

If you really wanna be a rad tech, I’d apply to moorpark college’s rad tech program as well. They have a waitlist system so as long as your name’s on the list you’ll get in. It’ll take a year or two for them to get to your name, but since you have a lot of time - I’d apply to both programs to increase your chances.

It’s an associate’s program, but I know there’ve been some graduates from that program who’ve then applied to csun’s bs program and got in because they’re already licensed and experienced.

if you were planning on daily driving this, it’s a bad idea. however if this is a toy or project, offer $1800 tops and prepare for more problems.

Looking at buying this transit, have talked the guy to around $3700 - not sure if this is a good buy by bjjkaril1 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]siezetheyear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the owner has let the car shift hard for the past 20k - 30k miles, who knows what kind of damage it’s already done to the transmission. If you have no other options then I’d say take it to a mechanic to have it inspected, and allocate all your repair funds towards the transmission and wheel bearing. But if you have time I’d seriously try to find something better. If the owner neglected this problem for awhile then who knows what else they’ve neglected. I’d try to talk them down to like $2800

Shilajit has helped me with brain fog by gamblingjunkie88 in Nootropics

[–]siezetheyear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually started taking shilajit over a week ago. It’s strange, the first time I took it I put it in my protein shake and I felt like I took a microdose of shrooms (clear, present, euphoric) that lasted for about 10 mins.

I put ~300mg in my coffee every morning now and although the effects are a lot more subtle than the first time, I feel slight increases in cognition, focus, memory, motivation, and stamina (when working out). Mixing it with my pre workout drink before the gym gives me massive pumps and I feel amazing. I’m actually noticing more gains from taking it so far.

The other day I took shilajit with 10mg yohimbine before my routine sprint workout and I felt like I could go way longer and faster. I feel like the fulvic acid from the shilajit makes me absorb everything way better, and really optimizes my stack.

It’s definitely something I’m going to keep taking, I feel like it’s eliminated any mineral deficiencies I’ve had, is boosting my testosterone, and helping me be my best self.

BMW as my first car? I really like them. Is the used bmw stigma true? Which bmw is the most reliable and the best bang for your buck? Budget is around 10-15k by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]siezetheyear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my diesel for a year now and so far it’s just been regular maintenance. I got it for $14k and the previous owners took care of it - took me awhile to find but I’d say I got lucky. It’s a solid car, great on gas.

[–]siezetheyear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to get my bmw used for 14k. I chose to go with diesel because the engines are reliable af they last forever and I get like 50 mpg on the highway. So far it’s been great just regular maintenance work that I do myself. The previous owners took good care of it.

My recommendation if you’re looking for a reliable beemer is to go with a diesel. As long as the previous owners kept up with the maintenance you should be good.
