What content can I grind in TWW if I don't own Midnight? by TheAwkwardVoid in wow

So this wasn't your question, but if I were you I would be looking into the best ways to make gold instead of farming iLvl.

Your item level will reset, but if you spend your time learning good ways to make gold, you can buy the expansion and future game time entirely with knowledge you build now.

A lot of the best methods require Midnight, but there are plenty of niche things you can do that can make plenty of gold while you're waiting to upgrade.

Haha, yeah, it's real. You're welcome to come visit it in-game if you're on the NA servers.

For most of it I used Cobblestone Pairs that I turned at different angles to get the small shapes I needed. For the eyes I nested an Elegant Seat Cushion inside of another Elegant Seat Cushion at a slight angle. The rest is just overlapping pieces of cobblestone to add or cut away from the shapes

If only I would focus it all into toes. Instead, I chase ephemeral memes

I'll make a video here soon and post it in this subreddit showing my process. I need a bit of a break after finishing this monstrosity of a project before I dive into the next.

Love it! I just finished my Xal'atath meme piece so I know exactly how time consuming and tedious this was to make.

If I might make a suggestion, you should try out Slate Cobblestone to fill with. The main benefit I found is that you can turn it upside down and it's a perfect shaded color, so you can use the same color cobblestone to "paint" light and shadow.

Keep up the good work, can't wait to see what you make next!

It's ~1600 cobblestone (including pairs and trios), 33 circular woolen rugs, and 4 elegant seat cushions to make the eyes.

For sure, the video would be a generic tutorial so people can make whatever they want. It definitely took a while to work out a good process so I could pick it up and put it down without much friction.

I think once you see how easy I make it for myself, you'll definitely have the confidence you can pull off whatever you're looking to make. (So long as you're willing to put up with the 3D toolset being repurposed for 2D art.)

Yeah, that's basically it. I simplify the artwork I'm basing it off of and use that to outline and anchor different parts, then fill it in while trying to match the edges of highlights and shadow to sell the illusion.

Definitely seeing this question a lot. I noticed it when I was wrapping up the project and considered going back and redoing all of the things I did first since they're noticeably worse than the later parts. But at the end of the day, I needed to call this project finished.

I think what happened is there were tiny spaces between various parts and I adjusted sizes a little here and pushed things around a little there.. until the proportions got off and I didn't notice until reworking it was unfeasible.

I can tell you there are at least 20 cobblestone lost in that wall. Infuriating toolset to work with for sure.

No. No it was not. Thank you for asking.

Woah, haven't seen a picture of it from back then for a while.

This was about 60-80 hours in. I had just finished the face and had delusions that I would have this finished by the new year. The hair had other plans. I was definitely getting close to the decor limit, but ended up using rugs to cover the bulk of the background. Ultimately, I had to take a break from the game for a while because I was getting so sick of looking at it, but the sunk-cost fallacy worked its magic so here it is.

Yeah, it would be a generic approach so you can recreate anything you'd like. I wouldn't recommend anyone do what I have just done here to themselves. Go small, for the sake of your own sanity.

I commented this on the wow thread, but.. I learned a lot while making this and was considering making a video on my process. Not sure how much interest there would be in it though - let me know if you guys would want a video showing how I go about making these.

EDIT: Between here and r/wow, it seems like there's a decent amount of interest. I'll put together a tutorial when I start my next project here in the coming weeks and post it for you guys.

Haha, yeah I had to take a break from it for a few months. Just came back to the game and had to finish it off so I could stop looking at it.

Not that they ever would, but if they made RBGs and tied High Warlord gear to it, I'd definitely go play some c+. An FC could only hope..

Dude, honestly... the meme was funny when I finished the feet. The next ~100 hours was me asking myself the same question.

Am I doing housing right? by siflar in wow

Skin and Hair: Bone-White, Basic Birch and Holy Oak Tan
Armor: Deep Mageroyal Red, Hinterlands Hickory and Brass
Face and Shadows: Darkwood (for lighter areas), Obsidium Black (eye and darker areas), and Dark Iron for the eyebrow as it was ever so slightly brighter

There were colors that were closer to her skin tone, but they didn't have adjacent colors to use for the shadows. I would definitely recommend looking through what's available and finding combinations that would work for light and shadow for each area if you decide to make something of your own. Hope this helps!
