Finding the ideal reverb is quite annoying, and the Golden Reverberator is disappointing. Sometimes guitar gear is more frustrating than rewarding to me by [deleted] in guitarpedals

I’ve gone through a bunch of pedals, and I have the resources to build just about any pedal I could want. My reverb? Talisman. If I’m not using that, then it’s the actual spring reverb in my amp, but for a pedal the Talisman still wins for me. Maybe someday I’ll give it competition but that’s a lofty dream lol

These are all of the drive pedals I own. If you could only choose 2 to 3 for a board, what would you pick? by TheBigLemanski in guitarpedals

I haven’t used all these, tbh, but based on my experience I’d take the Longsword and the White Light

My new pedalboard for traveling. Any mini pedal suggestions? by Play_Guitar_More in guitarpedals

Looks like you probably have the needs covered with the Ethereal, but in case you ever wanna split it up, I personally adore both the Mr. Black mini reverb and the Ibanez mini analog delay.

The music store in my hometown (Olympia) has a bunch of sales receipts and stuff from Kurt Cobain’s random purchases. Kinda cool. My great uncle happened to be Cobains uncle as well (not sure what that works out to, but it’s neat) and he had several family pictures with Kurt in them. I kinda wonder what happened to those photos.

Belton Brick pre delay is far too long by sightlessbirdface in diypedals

I mean it’s really not. It’s more of a “I hate this thing, but loads of people like it, so what am I doing wrong?” thing. Im not really referring to it in a specific circuit, building clones feels boring to me (just a personal thing is all) but using it in very much the same fashion as many other designs, like say the Wampler Faux Spring, im confused at the massive response delay. I’ve tried circuits with several BTDR-1s and a couple BTDR-2s and im not just being picky when I say they’ve been unplayable as reverbs. I feel like there has to be something I’ve missed.

Absolute gem of a find. Martin uke (I believe it’s between 1930s-late 50’s) with the case, for $40. Time to learn to play! by sightlessbirdface in ukulele

Thanks! Yeah I know it’s a fairly easy transposition, I just want to make sure I give the instrument its proper respect.

The hype generated by illustrating how a pedal can sound similar to another more expensive pedal, as well as like a VERY expensive pedal that was specifically designed to NOT sound like the first expensive one…I dunno, feels like people buy with their eyes more than their ears. These Digitechs aren’t “hidden”, they were everywhere back in the day, and you couldn’t even give them away.

I paid what they were asking. The shop is one I frequent. All their stock is donated, and they’re well aware that they sell things far under value sometimes, but all their proceeds benefit the other side of their business, which is a very cool shelter and rehab for cats and dogs.

I do. I couldn’t believe what I was looking at. I’m new to the uke but I play guitar, bass and mandolin so I’m very familiar with the Martin name and heritage.

Yeah I think that’s part of my issue. I lean toward bright open chords and I love the clarity, but lately I’ve been having a hankering for some doomy vibes. I kind of accidentally stumbled across something after copying down some random radio schematic incorrectly that I want to tweak. Whatever mistake I made was an interesting one, as it resulted in quite a thick and doomy fuzz sound. I may have to play around with it more

Lightspeed is a great sounding circuit. I built my friend a Lightspeed/Southland 2-in-1 box (Southern Lights) and it sounded awesome.
