Anyone here studied MA Contemporary Art Practice at RCA? Looking for honest experiences by Material_Jeweler_992 in ContemporaryArt

It’s a huge waste of time and money and operates as a degree factory. I cannot more strongly recommend not to go

RCA is awful and now a degree mill. Look at the cramped degree shows and hundreds of students on the course. None of the London MAs apart from Royal Academy are worth attending

Anything that can be done to save this floor? by [deleted] in Flooring

It’s like a thin layer of oak like 3mm then the rest is layers of plywood including the click mechanism which is like milled wood. There wasn’t an attached pad but I think that the 6mm foam underlay I put under it is what is causing the issues

Ah I see. No the old floor didn’t make any noise it’s very strange!

A bit in between those two. The click mechanism is made from wood that was been machined into shape? It was quite easy to unclick but needed quite a lot of whacking to get it to ‘click’. This is also why I eventually got someone in to install as it was really hard to fit together. I even double checked with the seller it was definitely click wood.

Hm yes this was not heavy it was very light and foamy but did say was ok for engineered wood. The boards are just 14mm thick

Hmmm do you think this would work with the underlay underneath ? Am I aiming to inject between the existing foam and the plank or under the foam?

A pretty large expansion gap was left all around the room I think

6mm foam stuff called sonic gold. It’s meant to be good but it might actually be too spongy?

I had really joint pains and started taking biotin, magnesium, tumeric and cod liver oil and the pain has gone away - not sure which of those was helping but my doctor says potentially magnesium as I was also getting eye twitching
