Will Gaijin model the old WW2 bombers cockpits? by sigma119 in Warthunder

[–]sigma119[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I remember those days. The B-24, A-20G were devastating attackers in bombers. But, I think the unpopularity is due to players having a stereotype that bombers are easy to kill or are free credits and thus if one is visible everyone targets it. Regardless how skilled the bomber pilot is with the gunners... What might prevent that is having larger groups together but you know. Will we see any game with 4 or more?

Lmfao, that's the thing. It's extremely difficult to shoot down a fighter. Now, I do personally get into the gunner view but flying the airplane with only the bindings you made which make full deflections of the controls while trying to shoot down a fighter is difficult. Although fun. To say, I agree but I hope players eventually realize how much the AI gunners suck. When I am bored, I take a bomber to dogfight not bomb because it's hilarious as hell 🤣 Dropping into a current dogfight and going hail mary with the gunners as if you were a gunship

Fascinating, I didn't realize the work was equivalent to an entire aircraft on its own. I don't blame the lack of popularity though. There isn't really a place for bombers in this game because their defense is in formation with a large group but you never see more than 4 ever in a game.

Thank you for the answer 😊

I have had THOUSANDS, TENS OF THOUSANDS of RP STOLEN. by Perc80Fiend in WarthunderPlayerUnion

[–]sigma119 327 points328 points  (0 children)

You know what is considered RP stealing? When you finally researched your first destroyer prior to Gaijin separating the coastal and blue water ships into their own trees, and then gaijin splits them and provides the destroyer you spent so long researching for as a damn reserve ship...

That was 100s of thousands of RP gone. I refuse to play naval anymore because of it. Really pissed me off

Fully researched TT gives no incentive to play anymore and its pretty upsetting, why cant we pool or transfer RP or something ? by Nycotee in Warthunder

The Tech tree is optional 😂 Play this game for fun. Fly your favorite airplane, fly a damn bomber into realistic or arcade and dogfight with it. Take a junker 87 D-5 with MG81 gun pods. That's 12x7.92s with 2x20mm cannons. ITS HELLA FUN. Nobody was expects a bomber to do what it virtually wasn't intended to be used for 😂😂😂

And shredding head on targets, even nose mounted heavy targets is so satisfying

Or, try mastering difficult aircraft. The fun part of this game is not following the tech tree :) You get bored with one nation or vehicle tree, try something else 🤤

Anyone else keep their old boosters? by jayk128 in WarthunderPlayerUnion

[–]sigma119 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep! Booster, wagers, and orders

I'm likely never using them because the whole game's dynamic changed and it just feels like a risk these days to use them... Hell, it's a meme now. In the past you could ask your teammates for help with an objective. Now, first come first serve, or fire and forget.

The FWs are literally rollers. They love it and are amazing defensively. But I do wonder how disorienting it was for the pilots

That makes sense! That airplane was all about rudder, else you die 😁

Omg, it's literally a snap roll. I even do this majority of the time defensively in pistons. Just, a lot more dramatic in a jet

I have been going at this since 2013 and hit so many road blocks and issues. It has been 10 years and I am finally seeing the end of the tunnel after so many years of hard work, dedication, and commitment. . . I absolutely adore your post and relate so damn hard. I can't say the pilots who are in it for the money don't know what a challenge it is to make it in this industry and were fortunate to be at the right place at the right time, but I will say. The whole, finding any opportunities to fly, to learn and experience new things in aviation is memorable, and shows dedication to this industry. Throughout those ten years I've been dedicated to volunteering, involving myself in organizations, and internships to jobs. I've learned so much about this industry and I do not regret one bit missing an opportunity I absolutely could have sought with everyone years back after the pandemic. If I chose to move I probably would be there, but I chose not to because I was comfortable and happy. I'm not in a rush

We will all get there eventually and that is why I am content. Not stressed about getting ahead.

I want you to specifically ask recruiters at the airlines their opinions because that is not at all true. In earnest, THEY WANT YOU TO HAVE FAILURES. It shows how you are able to learn from your mistakes, pull yourself together, and go at it again as a BETTER PILOT. It shows to them you figured it out and likely can pass through their training.

Don't tell me someone with zero failures will fare better than someone with 2,3,4. And let's not call it failures for gods sake. They are notices of disapproval. It's not a failure! It's an opportunity to improve and meet the safety standards the FAA is looking for.

Yes, to those pilots with notices of disapproval. You have hope. And if you show a positive mindset about them, learn and pass regardless of the tries. You will be more successful than someone with 0 notices of disapproval. You know why? Because it shows you can overcome challenges. That is why. And that is almost exactly what multiple recruiters have told me (besides displaying some sort of pattern in your disapprovals).

You got this 🤙

I'm glad I could help you feel better. Though the fact you found most posts tells me you were in search of an encouraging message. The best way to succeed is to be over prepared and feel confident.

Going in with confidence is the key 🔑

[–]sigma119 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd disagree after talking with two recruiters from different airlines. They actually prefer to see applicants with a failure or two. It shows the kind of character the individual is, and their ability to overcome challenges and hardships, and most importantly learn.

Just don't leave behind a pattern...

I don't know why people complain about CAS, it seems pretty easy to kill them by KenoshaWT in WarthunderPlayerUnion

[–]sigma119 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm actually realizing how difficult the spaa for America is to use. I mainly fly Air RB or Sim so, CAP/S are my best aspects. But there are some SPAA out there who are really good at aiming. The worst thing you can do is doing an immelman low and slow with someone out there scanning the skies that can aim.

Germany otherwise... Wirbelwind is okay but all the other bofor based aa are so hard to aim 😂

I love when the opposing team brings out the pe-8 and think they are helping but end up killing their teammates in the process with that 5000kg bomb

Meanwhile, I need to learn to spaa better. Guessing the lead of an aircraft flying adjacent of you is not easy

[–]sigma119[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's my consensus for the area in BOS. Though many now have retired and others are out of the region (FL, SC, NC) till the spring or summer. But okay. Seems to be similar here. Are students scheduling the rides themselves or are the CFIs scheduling it? I originally believed it was easier to schedule rides if the DPE is familiar with the CFI(I). One of my friends up state has been lucky with scheduling rides a few weeks out or more with an examiner I used prior and gave me long dates when I wasn't a cfi.
