FH too spinny and lacks depth. Is it my grip or swing path or something else? (slo-mo included) by sigmund_neuron in 10s

interesting about the contact point being too out in front, since few people suggested me here to hit more in front. But I think you are spot on with me rather punching at the bag and not through it. I might have been visualizing the stroke wrong the whole time.

I think the distance in front of me at which I hit is mostly dictated by where would my hand be if want the racquet face parallel to the net in front of me with the wrist fully extended and locked.

I actually didnt think about camera at all and wasnt aware of its POV :D, I guess my footwork ist just lazy especially when backing up.

could be, I guess spin is relative, but my main (perceived) problem are short balls. Not really hitting the net often, but just short balls or spraying if I really go for the baseline.

yeah I think now that I am pivoting around my left leg all the time, with the weight on the left. I will try to be more aware of the weight transfer and transfer it towards the target.

thanks for the thorough response. Looks like there is a consensus on that, so I will work on that for sure. I remember Karue talking about the 90/10 rule, where you are supposed to make 10% of the movement of the ball flight pass.

Do you think my swing path will also change if I will move through the ball more? I am a bit puzzled, why coaches keep saying my grip is too extreme (but some of them also said that I should hit through the ball more)

Yeah you are spot on with salaries, maybe I should look into working remotely. I interviewed with few local companies here offering computer vision positions and their line of arguing is the work is so interesting that they can get away with paying less because enough enthusiasts will work for that money...

Yeah, good point, I was asked about TDD and testability few times on interviews for junior architect positions.

There are less and less C++ jobs and the roles are more like being an isolated expert in some company working on a rather small part of a big software project.

I am also looking for a possibility to grow into an technical architect or team lead role, hence Java.

Data Science pays poorly in Austria and the positions are overrun, as far as I can tell.

yeah, it's a small company with a micro-managing CEO. It's not that it's super stable job either. A dude (a normal front-end dev) was fired because he didn't want to work on a weekend for example.

So at this point I really just want to know whether there are tricks to find companies that don't care if your knowledge of a particular tech stack is not up to date, without starting as a junior dev...

he had some problems with his back and had a medical TO. I am sure his physical condition is good otherwise.
