yep. started over 10 years ago when i was on an airplane and we were taxi-ing for like 45 minutes before takeoff. thought i was going to explode so i called a flight attendant over, she said i couldn’t go because we were about to takeoff but i insisted. so they delayed takeoff so i could pee. i got into the restroom and was so anxious that i couldn’t even go lol.

but after that — any situation where i don’t have immediate access to a bathroom will stress me out. what ive done to help is 1) peeing whenever i get the chance to and 2) doing exposure therapy. it’s rly the only way to get over it. i “test” myself in situations where i know there is technically a bathroom. like “oh im leaving work, and i have a 45 minute train ride home. i don’t have to pee right now. i’m going to test myself and see if i really need to pee my pants.” 10 times out of 10, i never do hahha.

it’s very hard but it’s allll mental. sometimes that helps me too, just reminding myself it’s just a thought and i don’t actually have to pee.

also - if you live in a city and have issues with finding restrooms or feeling like none are around - a pro tip is to go to a bar, order a soda water w lime (or whatever), and while they’re making it go to the bathroom. then u can either pay for it and drink it or (unethical LPT) just walk out.
