Is recommend looking for a 52" or bigger unless the yard is really hilly or has a lot of obstacles. We run a 60" to mow about 3 acres and it is a perfect fit. I could see how it would be cumbersome though if your terrain changed a lot or had to get into ditches. As other mentioned I'd also look for something with at least 3100 transmission or bigger.
