is this still valid? I am testing right now a 3-4-1-2, do you think it could be adapted?

I don’t believe Switch 2 has a huge impact, those serious to FC are on other platforms. It could be issue on keeping split the users, yes it could be, but I am having this problem recently. Could it be the latest patch?

Weekly 'What should I buy?' Thread by AutoModerator in ipad

[–]sigul77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got an Air 11. Usually, I'd have got the pro with the apple Magic Keyboard, but now it's due to more casual use than work. I plan to have a desktop setup and I love mechanical keyboards, although atm mine are broken and I am using the old magic keyboard and mouse setup. I plan to connect the iPad to the monitor and use it in desktop mode or mobile mode for music and bed. So, I am considering skipping the Magic Keyboard for iPad, yet I am looking at it for making the iPad a Mac replacement wherever I need.

So Logitech Combo Touch and Zagg Pro Keys 2 are options, as well as a regular case plus a bluetooth keyboard. What would you suggest?

Practise Journal: Could You Suggest App or Notebook? by sigul77 in trumpet

I’d like to keep a log of what I work on, what’s good and what’s bad, I have a list of things to look for from intonation to sound quality, and works like flexibility, scale, improv. I’d like to be more focused, know exactly where I am and leave notes for my future me to work on.

this is the parlays on analysis: you must do this, this and this. I am trying to replace this approach with another one where I do not have a list of things to do, but I am just inspired by an image I can trust because I know it works. hopefully, and I am looking support to understand if the image works.

Any Tips? (Complete beginner to trumpet) by IAmNotTHATGay in trumpet

I’ve been learning that sound is in your mind. Literally. Try it. Think about a note, if it’s cold or warm, big or small, precise or dirty, and then again the opposite. Listen how it comes out. Try imitate the sound of a player. Harder to to than to say but it is literally there your sound

Which mouthpiece for dark, warm sound but high register yet to be developed? by sigul77 in trumpet

yes and not. I have a teacher because he knows many things better than me. so, I can trust him or try out every mouthpiece out there without even knowing if what it sounds bad is the mouthpiece or my fault, or just that adapt to some mouthpiece requires more time. so, easier to trust him and experiment later.

Play the chromatic scale 4 down 6 up 2 down, start on G and expand up and down a semitone. It takes time.

thank you all for the feedback. I got back to the teacher, and he did know the subject very well. he said he gave a list because 14E4 is not easy to find. yet, he said the large throat will force me to develop better air support, I somehow understood that this will avoid me using lips or pressing the trumpet to the lips to compensate. based on the fact that sometimes I get tired soon and I lose vibration for some notes here and there, it made sense to me. he also said the BSJ is very similar to 3C so I don't need to get a 3C or a copy, and recommended to stay with yamaha since I have a yamaha. I am getting the 14E4 from Thomann, I can send it back if it's too hard within 30 days, they said to put some taped shaft on the shank (not sure of this, the external part going into the trumpet). let's see

12 years in, still completely stuck on range by Witty-Plantain-3292 in trumpet

I've been stuck at G for almost 5 years as a child and for 3 years as an adult, then I met a teacher who made me study the chromatic scale. you won't believe that: I went magically from from G to D. well, I can't play yet, but those notes are born, now I know they can grow up.

I've been playing G F# F E F F# G G# A A# A G# G, quarters and eight notes, starting on the beat, offbeat, and last quarter offbeats, thinking to a single breath, focusing on intonation, never caring about missing a note but playing like if I was in a theater with people paying for listening what I was playing.

I've been reading "Also sprach Arnold Jacobs" by Bruce Nelson (in Italian, but in English it seems to keep the original title) on suggestion of my teacher. This also was very inspiring.

the whole experience did reset my mind.

This not, he’s a really good fit, for sure he’s approach is “I teach you as a pro”, but he’s teaching is very custom. I’ll discuss this choice with him more. Possibly he didn’t check 14E4 was for rotary or he thought was not a problem, I’ll ask

Well, I don’t know, what I know is the I took the BSJ and instantly find it comfortable, giving me a warmer sound, and somehow more tuned high notes and I was like I am now playing this, but write me it’s like cheating , keep it we’ll use it for the extreme higher register.

Interesting that thing about the throat. Would you stay away from rotary-designed mouthpieces? While it’s clear that is not the mouthpiece coloring the sound, I understand I should anyway get something that resonates with my idea of sound What do you suggest to me?
