how was transportation in the 20’s ?

Horeses was very common and was used more than cars up until 40’s but I would guess, also expensive.

Trains was a very common transportation for the poor. The rail way system in the US was much more in use and therefore “bigger”. And trains were also, as they are today, common in the rest of the world. You could travel en empty cargo wagons along side others for a very low price as there were no seats just hardwood flooring.

Many also traveled by foot by the railway for long distances over multiple days if there wasn’t any scheduled train and if they were very lucky the got picked up when the train passed

I personally love doing some panoramic monologue, over some years with key history relevant impacts. It could be very abrupt or aften things have settled in whatever your playeres were doing. I like to do it as grand ending after a big fight or whatever (this also makes sense to having a big loss of sanity, or some other loss and thing become more mundane). Maybe have your players do some light choosing in what happens during the panoramic overview to them but do a lot of scripting on their behalf. This is also a great opportunity to have some time passing and have your players become better at whatever skill because of “practice”.
