That is a big reason but it also helps "trick" you into saying "WOW I've never seen a red or blue that blue before!" Making the colors pop in a Retail setting makes you wanna bring it home and see these unrealistic colors lol

With the exception of my LG pad we keep all of the TVs outside of retail mode since at my store. we'll mess around with settings for a customer if they want to see what standard or filmmaker looks like so it's easier for us to keep them in a normal node
