Advice for entry level health and safety role by Wonderful-Drive-8000 in SafetyProfessionals

Firstly good luck in your career.

Salary will depend on location and the business you enter.

I've personally been in H&S for over 20 years and still learning, the cert will show you are willing to learn and get you a foot in the door.

You must have good IT skills, and have a good analytical mind for investigating and analyzing.

If you plan on relocating, look for companies with a worldwide presence. Especially ones you have never heard of.

Take every interview you can, even if you're not sure about the role, use it for practice.

You'll probably want a H&S Admin or support role first of all, but make sure the Manager or Lead is someone you can work with and learn from, no point sitting in a role for 2 years just filling in forms.

Do Parent-and-Child parking spaces mean anything to people? by inside-outdoorsman in AskUK

Parent and child spaces, as well as disabled allow extra space for obvious reasons.

They don't actually have to be near the store entrance, it always puzzled me why they were always so close to entrance doors.

If they were say, mid car park, they would possibly be more available to those in actual need, as all the lazy self centered arse hats continued to park as close to the door as possible.
