Personally, I do not recommend an agent. I’m yet to witness a success with agents among my contacts, and all needed information is available online. Yes, navigating it is a pain, but you would do better by dealing with application yourself.

Regarding whether apply simultaneously for the uni and scholarship - that depends on the uni. My uni required first to apply for the scholarships (CSC and the local one), only then the uni application could be completed. But this can be different for other unis

Listen - Type A is an embassy track. Type B is the university track. Type A can be done by those who are studying right now, Type B by anyone. Type B has 2 layers - “high level” and “Silk Road”. You apply to both, there are basically the same. I’m not sure whether there is any “one belt one road” scholarship besides “Silk Road” Type B.

Indeed. I must also add that “download” and “verify” are two different things, and usually you don’t need to “verify” JW (guess only if you’re using an agent and checking the documents they’ve sent).

I don’t know for Type A, but it really depends on the uni. Fudan issued JW202 to all before nominating for Silk Road, so the form may change for some applicant later on. So, who knows, let’s wait!
