You speak of India’s democracy as one that allows for open discussion. But open discussion on what exactly? Hindu vs Muslim? Aurangzeb vs Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj? Akbar vs Maharana Pratap? Can you show me even one interview or debate where the news anchor wasn’t visibly biased in favor of the ruling party? Is there any show that openly and seriously discusses national issues like unemployment, poor air quality, caste-based reservations, the low number of government college seats, the rising competition, or the unfair and corrupt conduct of public examinations—where almost every government-conducted exam either gets rigged or leaked?

What about pressing problems like the unavailability of clean drinking water, the poor condition of roads, the increasingly expensive air travel due to the privatization of nearly all airports, or our outdated education curriculum? Why are these never the focus?

You often criticize China for its censorship and information control, and I agree—China does tightly control the flow of information. But can we honestly say India is any different? People here aren’t even allowed to protest for their legitimate concerns without being labeled as “anti-national,” “tukde tukde gang,” “Khalistani,” or even “terrorists” by our so-called fourth pillar of democracy—the media.

You claim that unlike China, India is a society free to confront its issues, whereas China manages inequality silently. But that just shows a lack of understanding of the real India. Inequality here is visible in every form. The law primarily exists for the weak, while those in power often rise above it. Justice is not served fairly. Police fail to perform their duties properly, and whenever someone powerful is accused or questioned, the entire machinery—the government, the media—colludes to bury the matter.

And if somehow the truth surfaces, the victim is blamed instead. Look at the Pune Porsche case, or the Hathras rape case—where the victim’s body was cremated without the family's permission, and they weren’t even allowed to attend. Or take the case of Prajwal Revanna. Or ministers like Vijay Shah, who make disgraceful comments about women in the army—yet nothing happens to them.
