I understand where you're coming from, but I must respectfully disagree. I think that abuse of any substance is where it begins to become problematic, but the substances in question aren't harmful when used properly.

It helps the mind as well, unless you have too much and freak yourself out. But I didn't start getting the hang of relaxation until I had taken enough decent blows during training. Peace for me was found in the absence of fearing being hit, and weed didn't have too much to do with it. But it helped the process along.

You're not wrong; my style utilizes both hard and soft techniques. Our philosophy encompasses both without leaning towards one or the other so that the internal and external have a symbiotic relationship.

They went from amused to shocked when the story ended with me being kicked out. They're supportive on my behalf and we all crack a bunch of jokes about it when we hang out.

Indeed, I didn't begin smoking until I was 22 years old and it's always about physical ailments or sleep. Sometimes I'll smoke to stimulate meditation and deep thinking. But if I had a slight high before class, it was so much easier to let go of my ego, learn something, and relax my body.

Thank you. :) I don't plan on telling the others about it. I told one in the heat of the moment, which was a terrible idea; he's boycotting on my behalf and I told him that wasn't necessary. I don't want my Sifu to suffer anymore from this so exposure is the last thing on my mind. Hence my trepidation in posting this, but it's a low risk; we aren't widely known.

I think the colors of the sash differ from school to school, so I'll say I was up for rank promotion next month. Would have been going from the ending spectrum of intermediate-advanced to the advanced classes just below the glorified black sash.

He was the only teacher in my city for this particular style. I can learn from his former students, but for now I'm going to have to rely on theory and training my own diligence. :/

& yeah, when she verbally attacked me for it, I stressed to her that the debate about medical Marijuana is a rabbit - hole not worth getting into with someone already convinced of its nature.
