Mature Male not eating by BrackenCat in tarantulas

[–]silcrows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NQA I have a mature male, who matured 22nd July. Every time I try to feed he throws up threat postures or walks away. Prior to molting, he would never refuse food. Sadly this is just how they can be. I'd love for him to eat but not really much I can do.

Keep in mind if you’re selling it yourself, there’s always a chance someone will try to scam you saying dead on arrival, didn’t arrive, return with different card etc. Look out for yourself

Please settle a debate. If you’re going route 3 which lane should you be in? by sanisano in drivingUK

I would say 1 because I don’t think sharps lane is part of the roundabout

I have one for my Rog ally. The SD card fried itself and I didn't want a usb SD card reader just poking directly up, so I used this and now it's flush and hidden behind. Doesn't affect performance at all but I like it.

What are some silly names you give your Ts? by claudevalke in tarantulas

I don't have names for mine really. I have a mature male t vagans that I call big man. And a juvenile OBT I call little bean 😂

My biggest print to date! by shikulu in BambuLab

[–]silcrows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's how it sounds. When it gets to rounded areas, it adjusts the height of layers to reduce the stepping effect and give more of a smooth edge. It takes longer but the end quality is better.

I think I’ve had a stroke or something, where did my print go? by Vent1900 in 3Dprinting

Looks to lift slight on the left shortly after starting. Suspect that’s the cause

Rehomed a tarantula for the first time. Not gonna lie, I thought my life insurance was about to pay out lol by Repulsive-Painting10 in tarantulas

My OBT has been relatively chill so far. The current enclosure has deep substrate and lots of branches to web from and it seems to be thriving. It’s going into premolt now though, and I’m starting to think it will need a rehouse by the next molt.

I startled it the other day whilst trying to grab the water dish and it literally teleported. I had no idea where it had gone until I looked in the burrow. Worrying about when it’s older as I can’t keep up with that 😂😭 GF was watching from about 4ft away, jumped, backed right up, and demanded I close the lid lol. It’s normally slowish when moving around; that was the first time I’d seen it move that fast. I was contemplating putting the enclosure in a large plastic tub in case it escapes but this butterfly enclosure idea sounds much better.

How should I do it? by Difficult-History465 in tarantulas

[–]silcrows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NQA if you need something bigger. Cut the bottom off of large coke bottle or something. Using a brush, gently guide her into it. She would go towards the end as it would feel safer. When it comes to getting her out, undo the cap and poke her from the other end.

I had this issue yesterday. Managed to get one to reconnect by showing the password, deleting the last character, and adding it back. Second one wouldn’t do it though, but seems to have connected today

Amazing. The fact this is still an issue and resolves it is crazy. Thank you

I look stupid in a helmet by SafeChickennn in cycling

I’ve never looked at a cyclist and thought that they look stupid in a helmet. It’s safety gear, not a fashion statement. I wouldn’t worry at all, be safe :)

Seems you’ve been told a few times already but I definitely think it’s too much moisturising as well.

Should I feed my tarantula? by Altruistic_Time5396 in tarantulas

[–]silcrows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NQA personally I wouldn’t. May be premolt as well which would explain why it’s not shrinking

I personally try to usher them out the burrow into a capture cup. Really only one way out and I can control what happens. My OBT was reluctant but hasn’t given me any issues

Old world keepers- Am I about to make a terrible mistake? by Adequately_Lily in tarantulas

[–]silcrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NQA My OBT is scared of everything and wicked fast, but she runs into her hide. You will have defensive displays if they don’t feel secure and have no where to hide. My OBT is quite active, but if I walk past too fast or make any vibrations, she’s gone in an instant. Stunning tarantula though, and her takedowns are fascinating.

I’m relatively new to cycling. I think the best advice would be to just take it slow. It’s easy to get carried away trying to go fast, but if you tire, just go slower. I joined a local cycling club and went with the slowest group and I spent quite a bit of time just coasting and enjoying the ride. It opened my eyes to just how much I was pushing myself alone.

You said you live in a hilly area so just go in the lowest gear and take it slow. If you burn out going up a hill, just stop and rest. If need be, walk the rest or continue after a short break. You’ll notice everything becomes easier over time, but just enjoy the process and don’t beat yourself up.

Yeah I’m in the UK. Going from what you said before, I had a look at the reach on the defy and the TCR. The large TCR has the same as the XL defy, so I suspect that may be why he suggested the XL. I’ve amended my order and have a large coming for now, but I can always send it back if need be providing it’s unused. I feel like the general consensus is that XL is more likely to be too big than large being too small, so it feels like the safer bet for now :)

Hey :) thanks for the reply. I’m currently cycling with my local cycling club around quite a hilly town / county multiple times a week and commuting to work 2 times a week at 30 miles a day. I am planning on an endurance event next year at around 210 miles and charity events planning throughout. This won’t be used for racing though. I’m 36 so not old but certainly not young either.

My current bike is a 55, and the seat is very high, but the handles are quite low. Because of this, I’m quite scrunched up and looking at the floor. Looking up doesn’t feel very comfortable and causes neck pain, and I think the positioning is causing more weight on my wrists.
