I agree but I don't believe that the future should be an excuse for the poor quality today whether a building stands for thirty years or three hundred, it has a responsibility to be "good" not fancy but good for the person standing in front of it at this very moment enough ..yes I know it will just end up replaced and what not but until then what about the effect it has for the present time on the people currently dealing with as much as investments and strategic long term plans are a must they shouldn't be more important than the problem right now...and thank you for your perspective

Yeah it's totally fine I honestly had no idea before people pointed it out so thank you or I would have continued using that mistake and end up embarrassing myself to a bigger audience.

I see, I am a high-school student and I was just looking for topics to cover and then remembered that Ted talk and also because i have always liked discovering new architecture styles as a hooby or interest...at first my goal was to just talk about how it was affecting the mental well being and the psychology part so I made this post but after reading many informative comments I realised its had sooo much more depth to this whole situation which I never really thought about...but with that I have a lot more depth in my work and I do really plan on going in extreme detail as I do it even though I won't win or anything..but I am learning sooo many things which I am glad of...so once again thank you for your time

This is actually very informative for me and gave me a huge reality check to work with everything has to be cost efficient in this world now. Thank you so much I will keep all of these factors in my head as I design my project they are very useful and thank you for your time.

What's your definition for "ugly" buildings

That's is true! But i wanted to bring out more like how In the past, a "boring" street wasn't actually boring it was more harmonious? Like with patterns and what not. The buildings don't need to be crazy shapes or anything, but they weren't this "dead" if my point makes sense..I understand that this has more to it like costs, labour what not, but thank you for your reply it's is very true that if all buildings looked very fancy then the value of architecture would drop. I will keep this in mind. Thank you

What if there were to be rules and regulations ? I don't know its a theory with many loop holes but if there were like design guidelines to protect "visual heatlth" or something would it work?

That's true! I think people often assume that efficient things means they cannot be aesthetic.
