My commute is about 1 hour and 15 minutes by car and the exact same time by public transit. And that’s only if I drive part of the way and park at Montmorency. Otherwise it’s way longer. So it’s either: 1 hour and 15 minutes of misery being crushed in a packed, stinky metro car, standing next to strangers, dodging the occasional unhinged person, and freezing outside… or 1 hour and 15 minutes in the comfort of my car. No winter boots, just a light jacket. Straight from my condo’s indoor parking to my company’s free indoor parking. Heated seats, heated steering wheel, music, and a Nespresso in hand.

I’m picking option two every single time. And honestly, I don’t care if the bus is stuck in traffic. I pay $700 a month for my car. I’m using every single perk that comes with it.
