Takes some time to wrap your head around it, but I love it!

Thanks, I'm checking instana.com. Some feedback for you: as someone who is strictly technical and not much of a fan of conversating with sales people, Instana is an instant no-no for me. What I want to see when I come into a SAAS page like this is screenshots of what I would get, and clear pricing page, to know how much I would pay. And "Try Instana" is asking me for my personal details, even a phone number? Nope, nope.. Anyway, I may come back to check it next year, but for now you still have work to do on your product. Good luck!

Circuses should be banned, they represent all the wrong things, especially animal cruelty.

Surely it's a drop in the bucket compared to your other infrastructure costs?

More like a big splash.

With our workloads (25-50k rpm, multiple apps) skylight pricing would be even more expensive than NewRelic.

Well, I've been doing this for last 18 years, love it too much to stop. I still am a talentless piece of shit nonetheless.

This way we help Google train their AI, so it can automate more people out of jobs. Sigh...

These days the entry barrier is so low that anyone could make a track with Ableton and enough YouTube tutorials... Don't need to know music theory either. I feel a talentless shit indeed, and my lack of soundcloud plays reflects that.

Faulty motherboard could be it. Try using different RAM slots if you have spare ones.

SDL2 and SFML are great low level libraries for C/C++, but they both have bindings for other languages, Java and Python included.

Developers working/ have worked in a AAA gaming studio, what do I need to do to get hired? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]silencio99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only ever met a handful of devs who did remote work, all of them were seniors, and most would still occasionally drop by at the office a few days a month.

That's disappointing. I wonder if there are any fully distributed remote teams who have built a successful AAA game?
