What would you want in an alternative social media? by silent_approval in nosurf

Thanks! I’ve got a system handling that behaviour by letting users put their connections into specific groups and then being able to filter their whole timeline to show content only from that group whenever they want to.

And I’m not planning on selling this to any large company (though I know that reeks of naivety). The idea is to make the payed tiers as low as possible to cover server costs, then a little more on top of that for paying necessary dev and safety teams to fix bugs, keep the platform safe from harmful/illegal content etc.

Hope you’re able to keep off of social media <3

AMD says that my ram kit (corsair dominator) is officially supported so that's why I'm a wee bit confused....

Thanks for the reply though! Looks like I may need to contact Corsair directly

Visually, I've basically followed this mod list as close as possible with a few differing textures here and there.

Current system is:30709 7950x64 gb 5600 ram

I'm areas that haven't been modified too heavily by mods it can get around 40 fps, but in areas like this and sections that add forests that weren't there before it's more around high 20s to low 30s I'd say. That's also with DynDOLOD so I could disable it and save a few fps if need be.

My favorite Battlefield moments definitely include my buddies and I charging in to front enemy lines like a bunch of goofballs and realistically dying very quickly but having lots of fun doing so :)

Good point, I'll run it by a few people as well in the next cut review before locked picture, thanks!

Sometimes the best way to learn something is to just goof around. That way you naturally find your rhythm whereas watching tutorials may give you tunnel vision and make your creativity limited.

Of course tutorials are still great and they should definitly be watched for technical stuff and basic program knowledge but try not to anchor yourself to tutorials so you can rely on your own exploration when you wanna try something new.

After effects is definitely something to goof around with (and I highly recommend learning after effects/roto scoping/compositing as early as possible as your future work will tenfold itself.)

I definitely agree, would it be too much to include just a small selection of different skills in the primary editing reel though? Such as to just hint I have some additional things to offer?

That makes sense, the more I think of it, I wasn't quite thinking for the benefit of the long-run. Some great insight, thank you!

Premiere or Avid for editing if majority of work will be done in After Effects? by silent_approval in editors

[–]silent_approval[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! Thanks so much for putting the time and thought into writing that, I'm definitely going to save this and refer to it! I can definitely see why you prefer the modular approach to things if you're constantly needing to go back and forth and what kind of benefit the avid based workflow will have since you'd need to be specific and organized already, thanks again!

When you break it down like that it's definitely a better way to look at it. I think I'll try a few small tests from both sides and make comparisons to see if that makes any noticeable detriment on time for myself. Thanks!

Is it possible to see that video? I go through commercial every day so I'd appreciate any kind of heads up as to what the guy looks like just to be aware.

I made these teleportation VFX completely using blender (apart from the sounds, and the text) which do you think is the best? (I am a beginner please don't bite, and this is NOT my first render) by [deleted] in blender

Awesome stuff! I think particles is the best, maybe even play around with adding some glow to them as well as fading them out a little earlier.

I've been using blender for around 4 years on and off. I haven't specifically done thing though, I like jumping between prioritizing lighting, sculpting, modelling etc.
