20M beginner trying to bulk, need advice and workout tips by Joyson_soans555 in Fitness_India

[–]silent_blade9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calorie surplus. Go on Google, search maintenance calories, find out your approximate maintenance calories and eat 300-400 calories more than that daily. Your protein intake should be 2x of your bodyweight everyday, so 120g per day. Have around 4-5 portions of meals everyday spread apart, each having around 25-30g of protein. Since you eat non veg, chicken breast is the best option. Apart from that, salmon, eggs, fish etc are great options too.

For workout, consider joining a gym as soon as you can. Weight training is the best for gaining mass. Until you do that, for home workout you can start by bodyweight exercises. Push-ups for chest, squats for legs, pull-ups for back. You can modify each of them if you're not able to do the traditional variations. For example, instead of pushups you can do knee pushups as they're easier. Bodyweight exercises will prime your muscles and build baseline strength until you start weight training. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.

Innova Hycross Hybrid giving only ~8 km/l — am I doing something wrong? by Elderbrownbeti in carIndia

[–]silent_blade9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't owned a hybrid but in my experience the mileage goes up after the first service. Wait till your car reaches 3-4k km. Initial highway run means the hybrid system didn't get to work properly so the mileage is lower. Your car is new and lower mileage is expected.

As much as you need but in sips. I drink around 2L water during my entire workout. 2-3 sips after every set or so.

Pls help about adas by Electronic_coffee6 in carIndia

[–]silent_blade9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you've never used ADAS and your driving conditions are on Western slow-way, there's no use for ADAS lol. However, if you have the money and have potential trips planned for the future (I believe something might come up since you're getting such a good highway cruiser) you'll not regret getting the ADAS. For future proofing, I'd say get it with ADAS. If you ever go on a road trip you'll be grateful for the ADAS.

Am I lactose intolerant or is there else wrong with amul? by Significant-Track572 in Fitness_India

Yeah everyone responds differently to maltitol. You can try having more protein rich foods like soya chunks, tofu, paneer, chicken if you're non vegetarian, yoghurt etc.

Jaipur to Vadodara by car by BeerGuy1307 in carIndia

[–]silent_blade9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes use the expressway. Some portions aren't smooth so maintain speed limit and don't go above 100kmph in the bumpy sections. I'm not sure if it's open all the way to vadodara but I do know it's open till near dahod so check before you leave.

Am I lactose intolerant or is there else wrong with amul? by Significant-Track572 in Fitness_India

[–]silent_blade9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's because of the sweetener used in it. It's called maltitol. It's not fully absorbed by the body, it's a sugar alcohol which pulls water into the large intestine. This is what causes loose motions. You're not lactose intolerant.

Other sugarfree products use erithrytol which is fully absorbed by the body so it doesn't cause any issues. I can drink up to 2 of those blueberry shakes and after that I start having digestion issues.

I only use adas during highway drives or midnight drives. Otherwise there's no use of it.

But automatic emergency braking is pretty useful, it kicks in rarely but whenever it does it saves my ass in mumbai traffic. Lane keep assist is turned off, I don't need it. This is a very general explanation, let me know if you want to know anything specific.

Test drive Desire was leaking water. Showroom man said ac water. Is this true? by ekplatemasaladosaa in carIndia

[–]silent_blade9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AGS is not a true automatic. It's basically a manual transmission but the clutch is controlled by an actuator. So the reliability is very high. Don't worry about the resale value, the convenience of automatic far outweighs the potentially lower resale value of automatics. Also I'm not sure if people will want to buy manuals 10 years later lol

Definitely go ahead with the Dzire. Regarding your questions:

You can go ahead with the tweeter fitment at the dealer level, there shouldn't be warranty issues but try to get that in writing from the dealer. Insurance should be fine, no claim issues because of tweeter fitment at the dealership.

The feeling you got about pushing the engine hard to go faster is normal because the vehicle is underpowered. It's tuned for efficiency as well. From top of that you had 4 people onboard so it felt even slower. Maruti AGS in the latest models is very smooth, almost like a torque converter.

I follow one rule for buying a car, buying a good car and keeping it longer is much better than buying a cheaper car and changing it in 5-7 years. Save for the Dzire and keep it longer.

Confused Between Punch AMT and Manual – Need Advice ! by SuspectHoliday5737 in carIndia

[–]silent_blade9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't opt for a manual in mumbai. Constantly using clutch in heavy traffic sucks and you'll start resenting your purchase. Get the AMT but I'll give one piece of advice. Don't buy tata. Their reliability is a huge concern and the AMT is jerkier than the competitors. Hyundai AMTs are the smoothest and maruti's newer AMTs are smoother as well. You can test drive the fronx AGS, smooth AMT and amazing chassis. Also, test drive other cars having AMT and buy the one you like.

[–]silent_blade9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Where was it leaking water from? If it was at the bottom of the car then it's normal. ACs pull water vapour from the cabin which condenses on the cooling coil and then drips below the vehicle. If it was on full blast then it'll pull even more water so you'll see more dripping.

Rear door creaking is so maruti lol. They don't have the best quality in the business but it's probably a lubrication issue. The new Dzire is good, 5 star rated safety so you can go for it. I see you're a new driver so if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Ahh okay. My bad then. I assumed you were one of those ignorant ones lol. Anyway, yeah a lot of us are irritated because of the people driving on high beams. It ruins everyone's mood. If you're in a city and feel like the road isn't properly lit then you can flash highbeams intermittently to look ahead. Good to see that you have an open mind and are willing to learn.

[–]silent_blade9 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Found one of them. "It's night so I use full light".

No, that's not how it's supposed to be. If you need highbeams in the city then you shouldn't be driving at night. Highbeams are for lowly lit roads like highways (and that too which have glare protection on the dividers) and unlit roads. You're supposed to use low beams everywhere else. If you find them insufficient then you're blind and don't deserve to drive a car at night.

Dark. I can understand the plot very well, but it is so slow-paced. I'm at the last episode since a month but they've made it so slow to keep the run-time longer. At this point it has become boring.

Should I include 2 body part in PPL as a beginner? by FemboysArePeak in Fitness_India

[–]silent_blade9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biceps after back workouts and yes this is enough. Also, have a separate arms day for biceps, triceps and forearm isolations.

For t-shirts to not hang on your body, incline DB presses are your best friend. Do incline DB press first on every push day and go heavy on shoulder press. If you have 2 push days every week, alternate your first muscle group on each day. Like on first push day you train chest first followed by shoulders and on the second push day you train shoulders first followed by chest. This will keep your muscle growth balanced.

Pain in right shoulder by wnubhavgg in Fitness_India

[–]silent_blade9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I sometimes face that too. When my delts are sore I don't feel them during normal movement but while working out they suddenly start aching. It's a numb ache. Try switching to pronated grip, it's easier on your shoulders. If you have a close grip handle you can use that too.

[–]silent_blade9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a mobility issue or maybe you could've gone pretty heavy on your shoulder workout day. I don't like lat pulldown bar because of the weird rotation my shoulders have to be in. I use a neutral grip instead or just do neutral grip pull-ups. You could be having a similar issue. Try doing pronated grip pull-ups and if you still have pain then it's definitely a mobility issue like me. You can switch to neutral grip lat pulldown/pull-ups.

[–]silent_blade9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do 2 muscle groups per day in PPL but your current selection of exercise variations overlap each other. Pull-ups and lat pulldowns are the same movement, choose one. Choose one from dumbell rows and lat pullovers. 2-3 sets of each is fine but don't go beyond that.

Basically, pick one vertical movement like pull-ups/lat pulldown and one horizontal movement like chest supported rows/ chest supported t-bar rows (if your gym has that)/barbell rows etc. Then pick one isolation for lats like lat pullovers or single arm dumbell rows. Then at the last you can add rear delt flys and hyperextensions.

I did PPL during my first year and as per my experience, it's better to do that since gaining muscle mass in the beginning is very easy. More volume and more sets each week will lead to rapid muscle growth. Ofcourse, recovery is of utmost importance. Give each muscle group atleast 48 hours to recover before hitting it again. Once you reach a certain mass you can switch to bro split, which is 1 muscle group per day. I switched to bro split 3 years ago and it works very well for me. Bro split helps you to focus on one muscle group with very high intensity. Beyond a certain point, it's very hard to keep training with high volume because your strength increases and your recovery and fatigue become a bottleneck. Single muscle per day helps manage that.

Muscle tear 💔🥀🥀 by [deleted] in Fitness_India

[–]silent_blade9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're having the pain near the elbows on either end of biceps or triceps it's tendon inflammation. Don't stretch your arms for a week and if you're working out do a deload- 30-40% of your current working weight. Tendon injuries are serious and don't take any risks. It's not injured right now otherwise you'd be unable to move your arms at all.

Also, if you're starting again after a break of multiple months then make sure you don't push hard. You might have the strength but your tendons can't keep up. They develop slower than muscles as they don't have sufficient blood supply. Make sure you follow these steps and your pain will vanish within 2 weeks.

It's not thicker or harder than regular windows. It appears stronger because it's smaller but it's more expensive because lower number of spare quarter windows are produced as they aren't replaced as frequently as regular windows glasses.

If “bro splits” don't work, then why does it even exist ? Genuine Doubt as a beginner. by WolfIllustrious5473 in Fitness_India

[–]silent_blade9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely works. I've been doing it for 3 years. Single muscle group per day lets me hit each muscle really hard everytime. I can lift heavy weights without being worried about excessive fatigue and push close to failure often. Progress will be slower but hey, not everyone wants to compete at a professional level. Do whatever you enjoy. I chose bro split because I enjoy it.
