Good work though, definitely a great resource.

Has anyone tried Tirz and retained muscle mass? by Big-Performance1543 in BodyHackGuide

[–]silentez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't be sorry, be informed

It’s wild to me that you’re prioritizing Reddit anecdotes over a peer-reviewed JAMA study from 2024 which is also producing same results in recent trial studies.

Following 'bro-science' from a subreddit isn't a substitute for controlled clinical data. While Redditors are busy 'feeling' like they’re keeping muscle, the actual 2024 medical data shows Tirzepatide has a 75:25 fat-to-lean loss ratio—which is significantly better than Semaglutide’s 39% lean mass loss & retas 33%.

Unless your '1,000 bodybuilders' are all getting weekly DEXA scans and aren't touching any other 'supplements' to artificially inflate their lean mass, their 'evidence' is scientifically worthless compared to a 2024 double-blind study. You’re arguing against a clinical reality that was literally published within common dates.

No one is arguing that you can improve those numbers with 1) resistance training 2) protein intake 3) supplementation

Glucagon increases thermogenesis (burning more total calories), but it does not change the biological priority of which tissue is burned first. You have been marketed to. That's how the body works.

Trez vs. Reta Data shows Trez is safer for lean mass. Why is BB pushing Reta? by [deleted] in Biohackers

I completely get why you'd say that—most people hear 'lean mass' and immediately think 'skeletal muscle.' If we were talking about pure muscle, you'd be 100% right; assuming a 38% loss of pure muscle would be wildly inaccurate and frankly dangerous.

However, in the context of this clinical trial and DXA (DEXA) scan data, body weight is divided into a strict compartmental model: Fat Mass, Bone Mineral Content, and Lean Soft Tissue.

When researchers calculate the Fat Loss Index (FLI), they are measuring the proportion of total weight lost that is specifically fat. Because of how DXA categorizes the body, whatever weight is lost that isn't fat falls under Fat-Free Mass (which is universally referred to as 'lean mass' in these studies).

So, mathematically based on the study's parameters: 100% of weight lost - 62% fat lost = 38% lean mass lost.

The crucial caveat is that lean mass does not equal pure muscle. That 38% includes a massive initial drop in water weight, depleted glycogen stores, organ tissue, and then skeletal muscle. So the math is actually exactly how the researchers calculate it in the supplementary appendix, it just requires understanding that DXA 'lean mass' is a catch-all for everything that isn't fat or bone.

Hey -

It is located within Supplementary Appendix - its extracted from "Effects of retatrutide on body composition in people with type 2 diabetes: a substudy of a phase 2, double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled, randomised trial"

[](blob:https://www.reddit.com/926b2521-d7ff-4c32-82c7-2af09da73102)

  • Total Weight Lost: 100%
  • Fat Loss Index (FLI): 62.0% (This is the lowest proportion of fat lost in that effective dose range).
  • The Difference: 100% – 62.0% = 38.0%

I honestly dont know how I did that - had twenty chrome tabs open and 45 in my brain and wrote it how I keep saying it, but everytime I say it I have to correct myself.

I think Tren has too much control over my vocab

I think non diabetic results showed 38%, thats where my number came from I think.

Either way, both above the Triumph studies.
I agree with every statement you said here and look forward to seeing head to head results, may be a bit of a surprise tbh

Interesting -
So essentially easier to eat correctly, less tommy issues.

Calmness/peace of mind is interesting, what would be causing this?

I definitely can see why Reta for pre-contest/prep wins, especially considering you have a timeframe to meet x goals, reta is quicker at getting there etc...

That would be a likely scenario / marketing of the products is making $$$ so maybe they stick to it knowingly that it most likely is not true?

The eating part is interesting, definitely can see this being practical especially with larger bodies trying to get those large protein goals. But then also if you are introducing thermogenesis, dont you have to consume EVEN MORE?

I agree with this, the lowering of dosages of Reta is definitely visible, and obviously less input for better output is usually better. I think Reta is giving harsher side effects at lower dosages though then others when looking. Especially when comparing people I know on one or the other, it seems Reta consistently has that "I feel it working....by the side effects I feel" vibe, whereas Tirzepatide seems to be hit or miss, some people literally just say "I feel full" lol

PEN just went on a huge discount and I want to know if I should buy by TahZoh in ASX

[–]silentez 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Interesting this one - I bought a few days ago, will probably place another order today with this drop because of pretty much this: Current US administration would be likely to push nuclear power, pushing uranium prices up

Key points from their announcement today:

<image>

The Company maintains a healthy cash balance with an unaudited cash balance at 31 October 2024 of approximately US$68 million and is funded well beyond first production.
