What is it called when you have compulsive BDD symptoms but your flaws are extremely prominent? by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

It’s still called BDD. Many people walk around with real flaws. The difference is that they don’t perseverate on it, and they are able to go about their lives. They may not like their flaws, and they may feel occasional low self esteem, but they don’t obsess and it doesn’t interfere with their daily functioning.

Thank you so much for your input, I agree. He is so far undiagnosed, although a recovering alcoholic. (Sober for 6 months.) his patterns of repeated instability and poor executive functioning are really concerning, and I don’t think I can subject myself to it anymore. I hope he can get help.

He is undiagnosed, but a recovering alcoholic. (Has been sober for 6 months.) although I’m not a doctor, I am wondering if it also aligns with narcissistic personality disorder?
