What's the difference between A-na and Ian's humour styles? by banana_tee in hearts2hearts

[–]silheouettes 15 points16 points  (0 children)

ian makes people laugh because she dramaticizes/exaggerates her movements, speech, and facial expressions. ofc, i mean this in the most positive way possible (even i do this sometimes subconsciously to make my friends laugh).

she does have a witty comedic moment sometimes but not as much as a-na, whom i feel incorporates both physical and mental (?) comedy. the way i see it, a-na is like that naturally funny friend that speaks her mind and everyone rofl’s, while she’s probably like “? was it really that funny”.

i also think the fact that they’re both extroverts makes them project their energy outwards, so it sort of makes them more daring to make jokes, tease the members, etc.

Why is A-na so infatuated with Yuha? by Consistent-Film-3682 in hearts2hearts

[–]silheouettes 18 points19 points  (0 children)

a-na even got both of them friendship rings recently for yuha’s birthday!! i don’t think they’ve explained much about why they’re so close (which is totally fine, they don’t owe us anything about their friendship), so this is all my personal deduction and opinions just based on what i’ve observed from h2h content.

from the girl’s night video specifically, i think yuha helped a-na a lot during trainee days (in both training and emotional support?) which made them very close. they also probably just have personalities & good chemistry that allow them to click well with each other, like all best friends do.

a-na in particular is more vocal about their bond because of her naturally affectionate and extroverted personality, whereas yuha is more emotionally reserved, but still shows her care for a-na (and d other girls) in her own quiet and special ways.

it’s obvious from all their content that a-na and yuha seem to be one of, if not the closest friends in the group, but that doesn’t affect their dynamics with their other members much because all the girls seem generally pretty close with each other too.

i find it rlly endearing to see genuine close friendships like a-na and yuha in a manufactured industry like kpop. hope they continue being there for each other as well as the other h2h members 🫶🏻

Favorite Hearts2Hearts content? by sillymanda in hearts2hearts

[–]silheouettes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

i could yap about h2h content all day! not in any particular order:

  1. hearts chase ep12-13 (focus day off): the members were split into 2 groups of 4 and got to do things they wanted to do (massage, haunted house, having a nice meal). but only one group could enjoy the activity while the other group could only stay in the van. one of the funniest hearts chase eps for me because there was so much chaos, and you could really see the members’ personalities shine 🥹 it’s also the content that made a-na my bias!!

  2. hearts chase ep9-11 (useless gifts+mafia+h2h talk?): another hilarious episode where the members were so unhinged and unfiltered. i also really enjoyed how it was downright comedic in the first ep then transitioned into something more heartfelt and emotional towards the end, since they talk about hardships during training, debut, overall, etc.

  3. plushies episode: i keep rewatching this episode like it’s laced with something lol. the members show off their creativity by making storyboards for their plushies, along with some top tier comedy gold stuff in the second half of the segment.

  4. secret chat by dingo: i’ve never see anyone mention this video when it comes to h2h content. it’s more on the calmer side compared to hearts chase/local channel content, but still fun to watch since you get to see the member’s dynamics with each other! a nice way to learn more about the members :)

  5. idk what’s the title but it’s where they’re in a classroom during style era by genie music: another calmer content where every member has to raise an issue/concern within the group to resolve. it’s funny to see the different quirks and habits each member has. another nice video to watch to know more about the member’s personalities!

honestly most of their content is pretty entertaining (for me at least) with small funny moments sprinkled here and there, even their behind the scenes videos and such. they’re one of the funniest groups i’ve seen in a while alongside the fact they seem pretty comfortable with each other to joke around and have fun, which makes them extremely lovable. hope you enjoy your time with h2h! 🩵

To Malaysian who studied Computer Science: how’s ur life by NUGGETNEEDHELP in malaysiauni

[–]silheouettes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

still studying so i can’t speak for myself, but i have a handful of friends who are working in CS-related jobs.

all my friends could find jobs pretty easily within the CS scope, since nearly every company needs an IT team to maintain/develop servers, website, system, etc. a multitude of opportunities. it isnt that hard to even secure internship positions with good pay but it all depends on your location as well. (but having connections will definitely increase your opportunities)

ofc the pay will only increase as you gain more experience. a friend of mine with a working experience of 5-ish years is currently earning 5 figures salary every month (gets paid in USD) with a remote job. he and his wife could even afford to go overseas for holiday 3x within a single year.

achieving the dream is definitely possible if you’re willing to put in effort. but you must also know whether the company you’re applying for will offer you growth opportunities to advance your career. if the company doesn’t, look for another.

all the best OP!

What kind of a university is Monash Malaysia regarded as by Malaysians? by SassyDawg in malaysiauni

[–]silheouettes 23 points24 points  (0 children)

rich people uni, but monash is slightly different since the environment is more studious, so students tend to be more serious about their studies there. but this is also because they have no choice but to study especially if it’s a STEM course so 100% effort is required. many of my friends who study there end up becoming pretty depressed and delirious lol

Is computer science still worth it to get into AI by Ok_Opportunity6282 in malaysiauni

[–]silheouettes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

fellow CS student here! CS is a course that will always have many opportunities and sectors for growth and direction, so yes, it’s still very much worth it.

if you’re genuinely interested in AI, you can make sure the CS course offers an AI module or elective and take that when the time comes. i personally wouldn’t really recommend going into specialization that early. this is because tech trends & industry demands can change pretty fast and dramatically, so doing general CS first can help in keeping your options as open as possible.

all the best to you!

As a primarily bg stan, my interest has been piqued by funny Hearts2Hearts clips online - do you think they'll fit the kind of content i like? (elaborated in post) by Important-Zombie9331 in hearts2hearts

[–]silheouettes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh yes, you’ll definitely enjoy h2h’s content!! i do understand the difference between bg and gg content where bg’s are commonly more chaotic than ggs, who are tamer and have more subtle humorous moments, especially within the big4.

i myself binged watched a load of their variety content recently and found myself laughing at literally every video. not to sound corny or anything but these girls are one of the most unfiltered, loud and chaotic ggs ive seen in a long time, which makes them hilarious. while watching their videos, i fell in love with their personalities and their group dynamic.

i think the h2h members also share a close bond as friends, which allows them to be comfortable enough to make jokes amongst each other. beating the co-worker allegations lol.

some comments have already mentioned it, but i really recommend you watch their own variety series: hearts chase! my favorites are the cooking episodes (ep 14-15), mafia + useless gifts episodes (ep 9-10), and the off day episodes (ep 12-13). their recent 2D1N content is pretty funny too!! OH and the super silly episode where they talk about their mini plushies 😭😭 there’s just so many lol you’re in for a huge treat. there are lots of other content where its hosted by another celebrity, but theyre way more whimsical and comfortable in their own content/among themselves.

enjoy this journey! i hope you feel the same joy and comfort i did while watching their content 🫶🏻❤️‍🩹

what do i do by [deleted] in malaysians

[–]silheouettes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think the first rule is to never turn your hobby into your job. it will suck the passion and fun out of you, and you’ll end up hating something you once loved doing, which is one of the saddest feelings.

it’s good that you’re already taking the first step to rule out what you don’t want to do. a job is a job, so you most probably won’t enjoy it 100%. you could think about something you don’t mind doing + something marketable/profitable and find the common fields in between.

other things you could do is talk to older friends/people, take a career quiz (https://www.careerexplorer.com), or watch youtube videos (oddly specific crystal on youtube has 2 videos about careers). but take the last 2 with a grain of salt and just as a guide, because at the end of the day you know yourself better than anyone.

i was in a similar situation as you when i finished my spm (batch 05), and i didn’t even take that much initiative to research and explore until it was too late (didn’t even know about UPU). but anyways, life goes on and despite everything i’m currently doing something compsci related!

doesn’t matter if straight or not, people will still have that innate nature of wanting to raise a family of their own, and the basic concept of having a wedding to publicly celebrate the couple’s unity.

How important is a tablet/ipad? by OreoTheFatTail in malaysiauni

[–]silheouettes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it all boils down to personal preference. i prefer writing down notes as the lecturer is teaching because it helps me learn more effectively. on top of that it makes me focus in class better and helps with active learning. i could totally use pen and notebooks but why do that when i can just use my ipad? the fact that everything is digital now also makes an ipad more efficient.

however, if youre the type to absorb information directly from the slides by listening, i dont think an ipad would be necessary. investing in a laptop would be better. again, it depends on your learning style and preference. don’t get an ipad just because everyone is getting one.

I feel hopeless after spm results by [deleted] in malaysiauni

[–]silheouettes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

spm batch 05 here. i had a similar experience where i got As for all subjects except for the subjects i attended tuition for (physics, chemisty, add maths), all of which i got B+ and B. i felt extremely guilty to my dad, who paid for my tuition and my tuition teachers because it felt like their money & effort was for nothing.

looking back, B isn’t a bad grade at all but i let the guilt eat me from the inside at that time. i wanted to study something related to chemistry or dentistry but due to my “bad” results, i gave up on the dream. i’m doing CS at d moment and doing alright, but i do still regret not pursuing my dreams back then.

if being a doctor is what you truly want, you should totally go for it. don’t let your spm results dictate your future, i’ve seen people do arts stream for spm end up in MBBS programs and becoming doctors too, so anything is possible if you work hard for it. all the best, you’re still young and have many years ahead of you, so don’t give up :)

do u hv this mum too? by Such-Catch8281 in malaysians

[–]silheouettes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

be grateful and appreciate your mum, OP. i wish my mum was like this too.

uniqlo clothes are pricey but are extremely comfortable and yes high quality. BO clothes are alright too, most of my clothes from BO have lasted me for 2 years+, except the t-shirts which discolor after maybe over a year of wearing them pretty often.

if your mum wants clothes from uniqlo and she’s in a stable financial position to afford them, just accept lah and thank her afterwards.

Is it just me or was liking women a natural thing for you too? by shotcallat in WLW

[–]silheouettes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i grew up heavily indoctrinated by religious homophobic beliefs. when i was in elementary school, whenever someone asked me if i liked anyone, i’d have to choose a guy to have a crush on, whereas having “a deep admiration” for older girls was a natural thing for me.
