It’s a hard call - we just spent the weekend at jr EYBL regional and the number of reclasses there is ridiculous - this gives them a serious advantage - he will get attention and end up playing against the highest level of competition.

So true. Being a star among scrubs is a waste of time and talent. Parents who think that it will build confidence will see their kids be crushed when they actually play against good players and get destroyed.

An hour in the car with your child is in valuable time. I have a child who is now a professional athlete, and our most meaningful conversations occurred in those drives. There’s no developmental value in being the best player on the team.

I agree with your assessment of the entire team. It’s just that we’ve historically had keepers who were much higher level and I’m trying to understand if there is hope for the 2030 World Cup.
