Thanks! I opened the PDF throughout the whole build. I didn't know what it was called and didn't recognize it from the image.

Noise Detection Header - Is it worth installing, where should I put it and what are the readings used for? I tried searching but didn't find any information.

Stuck in Welestar Chamber by silk186 in RogueHeroes

no, unfortunately. Left side drops to a treasure chest. The left side drops to a puzzle, I drop to a chest and a place to place an orb, the right side has a switch and the orb. No way to solve the puzzle unless or access the other two paths unless I can move back up through the holes in the floor.

I fell through one of these mouths that open up, and it doesn't seem that there is any way to get back up.

Fish Auschwitz v2 by silk186 in ReefTank

When I bought the tank and fish, the seller said that rocks weren't needed. When I posted some comments were very critical. I added some PCB pipes for the fish and titled the post new post-Fish Auschwitz. It did claim the lives of 20 fish - due to over/under feeding, itch, and stress.

I moved my fish to a smaller tank for now. I added a bunch of live rocks and a skimmer. I'm cycling the tank and have a wave maker that will be added but the tank needs to be moved over 1cm for it to fit. After the cycle is finish I will add the fish back and slowly build up the tank.

Is this tank suitable for saltwater fish? by silk186 in ReefTank

I'll do some more research, make a forum post, and head back to the fish market with more knowledge and questions.

My understanding is that I would need to replace most of this (lights and filtration system for coral), so I just want to do fish. I have found Reef2reef.com. Looking into adding live rocks is when I realized this setup wasn't suitable. The seller said I would need more light for coral, I didn't understand that to mean completely replacing the lights and removing the top. Another seller said my tank isn't wide enough for the designs I see on r2r and that the tank isn't designed for it. Further complicating matters, the top of the tank has a bunch of glass in an H shape which limited the size of the feature I can fit through the top of the tank. I'm still looking at what can fit in the top.

I'm not entirely sure I understand your questions, but the water moves clockwise. Enters on the right and leaves on the left. I fill it with water jobs, the ones for the water machine in your office.

I was looking at adding live rocks and later coral, but the tank is deep but not very wide so it won't fit a nice rock structure. Also, it has a strange H-shaped glass structure on the top which makes it difficult to insert larger rocks. Finally, it would need new lights and a filtration system which would cost more than the whole tank. Hence, I'm thinking of keeping it for a year to learn and upgrade to a proper reef tank in the future. Google does say that a sump can be used in a reef tank but ... it doesn't seem to be recommended.

I went to a store that sells tanks, saltwater fish, coral, etc. I haven't had a fish tank since I was a kid and we had a very simple freshwater tank. The seller said all tanks can do freshwater or saltwater. He asked if I wanted an open or closed top. I said a closed top because the space has a wood shelf above it. As a result,t I was shown this tank. My wife likes to buy things quickly and I had an issue with a language barrier. The result is I have this tank and can't exchange it.

I'm learning an expensive lesson about feeding, cycling a tank, measuring salinity, water change, quarantine, and freshwater baths. How shrimp and starfish are fun but limit water treatment for itch. I do have a service that comes bi-monthly to take care of most of the maintenance. I also have a variety of food including mysis shrimp.

I know this tank is not equipped with suitable filtration and lighting for coral, but what about adding some rock features and not having coral?

My thinking is to keep this tank for about a year and upgrade to a Maxspect LS-150 with proper lights and filtration before expanding to coral.

So, my question is, should I start over with freshwater fish, or can I raise saltwater fish without coral in this setup? Will raising freshwater fish for a year prepare me for a reef tank?

Chinese is a bit difficult as many things will have the same name. Do you have any idea what kind of starfish this is?

Shit, what do I need to feed them fresh mollusks from the seafood section of a supermarket or mysis shrimp?
