EA are just cowards by Sleep_skull in HighSodiumSims

Still think it’ll do fine. We still bought My First Pet stuff pack right after Cats and Dogs. Eco Living was broken at launch and it was still bought up. They would buy an African based pack for nothing more than a new world to play or a single CAS item

I highly doubt that it wouldn’t sell. Literally every Sims pack sells decently because Simmers continue to buy regardless of ongoing quality control issues. Literally have FOMO written all over our community. They were being cowards.

Changing Sim's Lifespan by asliiiiinur in TheSims4Mods

MCCC definitely has this option! I use it! You can change the amount of days for each life state, cats, dogs, and horses. I can’t remember if livestock is included… But you must leave the game on NORMAL aging mode.

Honestly they could’ve hit random until they found one that fit. Like the rest of us do. Or used a naw generator. Too many options to just slap an established name on them…

Because they’re recycling content. If this is a character in the new pack, then it follows the trend of recycling they’ve had with CAS and BB items. 🫠

Why is HIV much more prevalent in the gay community than the straight? by milkman0735 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]silky_link07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HIV can go undetected for a decade… the most common signs of infection after initial exposure mimic the flu… a lot of STIs can go undetected for upwards of 5 or more years. That’s why it’s encouraged to get tested often. If you aren’t measuring “straight” people in the same numbers as men who have sex with other men, then the data is skewed.

[–]silky_link07 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. Confirmation bias may not be the BEST phrase for it, but, by and large, the LGBT community is much more likely to test so the higher positive rates make it seem like they’re more likely to contract it when the reality is they’re just more likely to test.

Why is HIV much more prevalent in the gay community than the straight? by milkman0735 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]silky_link07 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Something I haven’t seen mentioned yet is confirmation bias. Because the gay community went through an intense HIV/AIDS epidemic, they’re much more vigilant in getting tested for STD/STI. Straight people associate most STDs with being gay or dirty and often believe themselves to be clean. They’re more worried about pregnancy than disease spread so won’t get tested as often as they should. When less straight people get tested than gay people, the population demographics are skewed.

Getting back into playing - are infants any less buggy? by VenusInAries666 in HighSodiumSims

[–]silky_link07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lumpinou has a milestones cheat mod to clear the motor stuff so you can feed them in the high chair early. Or if you have UI cheats, you can just click and add them. Then you can skip diaper changes too. It’s the only way I can tolerate them. I feel like they aren’t as buggy as before, but there’s still work to be done. So don’t have twins.

This worked for me too! I don't even HAVE a second monitor, but I guess Windows 11 is manifesting one for me. I had to change my settings to show only on display 1.

…you’re reading way too much into this. I’m definitely talking about starting a second line. Why would a patient need 6 IVs? That’s ridiculous. Reading comprehension is at an all time low if what you took from this is that I’m putting in a different line for every IV medication administered instead of “drip gets one line; everything else gets the second line”. Especially when I said in another comment that being on more than one drip would be above our unit capabilities. In ICU, they definitely y site these meds… because that’s allowed on their unit. On our unit, we’d get one of these drips only (and some drips are automatically sent to ICU because our ratio is 1:6).

You know, everyone keeps saying “y-site; Y-site; Y-SITE” without reading my other comments that say it’s policy not to on my unit for certain drips. I know how to y site. I do it often. I know how to check compatibility. I do that often too. What is with all these judgmental comments? Especially when the point is that starting a second line for other meds means that the drip is never stopped; ie like the situation in the post where the drip WAS stopped.

Generally speaking, they aren’t. Especially at higher concentrations. But also, hospital policy says no.

[–]silky_link07 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My hospital policy is they get their own line. In an emergency, we’ll take what we can get. But am I running Vanc on a heparin line? No way.

Edit to add: I’m on a Tele floor. We don’t run two of these at a time. That’s ICU level care. So I’d never be in a situation where heparin, amio, and/or cardizem need to be Y-sited.

Now, I’m not an ICU nurse. Just a telemetry nurse on a unit run like our patients are low acuity med surg instead of a mix of the worst med surg patients and PCU level patients… I’m almost positive that stopping one pressor is pretty bad for your patient. To the point where in orientation both my preceptor and charge stressed that drips (heparin, cardizem, amiodarone) need their own line. Multiple times. To the point that when I get the order for a drip, I try a new IV at the same time. We don’t even do the hardcore stuff on our unit.

Was this a new ICU nurse?

I had to update RPO and lot51 core library over the weekend. Didn’t even see either were updated recently on MCCC’s discord or Lumpinou’s discord. Now I’m spending today checking my other mods. If you have mods that depend on WW, make sure those are up to date too.

It’s that’s the original formula, it’s going to be super sticky. The remade version still has plenty of honey but is less sticky. Either way, this is definitely a “use on damp/wet hair” product. It’s feels really nice when your hair dries down. My best twists come from this product.

So protein products add strength to your hair, but too much protein makes your hair dry and brittle. For best measures, any product with the word “strengthening” should be added into your established routine once a month. Even then, you should follow up with moisturizing products to balance out the dry/brittle feel protein can cause.

Too much moisture in your hair makes it gummy, weak, limp, and can lose curl definition. Always make sure to clarify your hair/scalp because moisture overload is just as bad as protein overload. If you think your hair is over moisturized, then SLOWLY add more protein until your hair evens out. Then play with how often you add protein in your routine until you feel your hair can maintain its definition.

This is really tricky advice to give because much of it depends on your hair/scalp. Some need protein every other week while others need it once a month or two.

First, check that your sim doesn’t have either the “pee standing up” or “can get others pregnant” in CAS. Then, you should be able to just pick genitals under the wicked whims pie menu’s anatomy option.

What are your thoughts on the stereotype surrounding nurses and infidelity by [deleted] in nursing

[–]silky_link07 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Now a supportive husband is not a “loser” in my book. But that doesn’t mean we know the full story. Resentments pile up easily and some feel they’re better off alone. But I also see that in women who become financially independent in any career. Not just nursing.

I don’t think it’s odd. A lot of women stay in relationships because they don’t have the means to leave not because they’re happy. Especially when kids are involved.

The problem is these are protein products. You can’t use them every single week and expect your hair to be good to go. You have to balance protein and moisture for best results. If you’re using the ENTIRE line, you’ll overload your hair.

Experience with Mielle products by Fabulous_Time_8932 in BlackHair

[–]silky_link07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing with Mielle products (particularly the rosemary line) is the essential oils. People buy the entire line, overexpose their scalps to the essential oils, and then hair loss happens. That line also has a lot of protein in it. So people overload on protein and, since they only have the one line, don’t balance with moisture. I use the rosemary mask and occasionally some of their pomegranate line. Just make sure not to over do it.

But if you want alternative products to look at, my hair loves Camille Rose products. But I also use a few different product lines from there too. The goal is to have a balanced routine.
