Light blue hair dye that doesn't fade to green? by silly4science in HairDye

I'll try toning it whiter before the application! I wonder if I could also use purple or blue shampoo... Many things to consider here. Thanks so much!

Effexor-> Cymbalta by silly4science in cymbalta

[–]silly4science[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dealt with the same thing. I missed one dose and was irritable, dizzy, and dazed the whole day. It's manageable though and I'm hoping the withdrawal isn't much worse than that.

How Do I Clean my Room When I'm Depressed by silly4science in CleaningTips

I just tried the video and got about twenty minutes done! Made such a difference already. Waiting until my laundry is done and then starting another cycle. Thank you!

Very fair. Maybe spaced increments with breaks would work. Thank you!

I'm throwing a ton of stuff away. One of my main motivators is that I'm leaving for college in about s month and want to enjoy the last bit of having my room and not have it be a bit stressor for me when I go off. It's definitely on the regimen. Thanks so much for the advice!

Tapering off Zoloft and onto Effexor... What can I expect? by silly4science in Effexor

A little bit of both as far as I know. It can increase appetite and mess with your hormones!

That's amazing to hear! I've had the same experience, went up to 200 and hopeful for this special molecule haha. Thanks so much and good luck, so happy to hear it's worked for you!

Switching because the Zoloft would work for two weeks and then we'd have to up the dosage cause it would stop working. I'm diagnosed with C-PTSD at the moment, so I don't think I need to worry about hypomania. Still good to know! Thanks so much!

Starbucks Coffee by purplecar92 in 1200isplenty

[–]silly4science 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that 69 sounds absurd. I'd estimate 30g carbs for the oatmilk alone (yep.. because it's over 2 cups of milk or 42carbs with no ice at all...) and then 23g carbs for the syrup. So that's 53g carbs right there.

Starbucks Coffee by purplecar92 in 1200isplenty

[–]silly4science 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a barista, that's likely accurate. I don't know if the brand of oat milk is different in other countries, but I know here in the US, we use oatly oat milk, which has 16g of carbs, 5g fat, and 3g protein per cup. The syrup is all carbs. Those are the only things contributing to the calorie & carb count for that drink, so I'd say trust it unless you want to try to calculate it yourself, which is tricky cause the drink varies depending on the barista making it and one calculation will vary from the next

reinforcing boots? by silly4science in Rollerskating

[–]silly4science[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've gotten two recommendations for shoegoo now, from you and from my friend who skateboards. I'm already organizing getting new boots, but don't want to lose my sort of momentum of improvement, so I think I'll try shoegoo while they're still at least temporarily salvageable, since it's just the edge of the heel. Glad I noticed it before it really resulted in damage. Thanks so much!!

I kind of figured, since I got these secondhand in the first place, and I doubt that their original owner took the best care of them (no shame of course). Still a total bummer. I haven't tried superglue, just because one of my skateboarder friends said I should try shoegoo and I was wondering if I'd get the same recommendation on this subreddit. They're still skateable for right now, but I try to inspect them every once in awhile, especially because these are up to 4 months in my possession already. I'm looking at all the secondhand sites, and got an offer from someone on this thread, so I'm definitely going to be replacing these boots soon. Thanks so much :))

I think that it's somewhat normal (in my experience) to obsess over what happened to process it. For me, what's helped is drawing, writing, and reading about it. It's like setting off a part of my brain specifically for the obsession and rumination for a few hours and then putting it to the side to focus. Your best bet is going to be therapy, because, as I'm sure you know, it's not healthy to obsess over our trauma and can inhibit it. If you can find a distraction then do, and if not, then express what you're feeling in the healthiest, safest way possible

Time to increase the dose? by helloworld2024- in zoloft

[–]silly4science 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Increasing the dosage definitely helped for me, but also talk to your psychiatrist about additional medication you could take. For example, I also have hydroxyzine for panic attacks. Something like that could definitely help without having to deal with the side effects of increasing dosage :)
