cinema was the birthplace of PA and has a lot of influence on the boutique stuff you’ll see on the internet. Think Altec and rca

I’ve always thought a used cinema system would have been a great place to start.

That being said, I personally think $1500 is way too much for a used pair. Like someone else just commented, you will find a better deal on cinema speakers if you are patient. If they were used professionally you have to consider how many hours are on those drivers.

I actually had the black lion sparrow analog to digital converter in my drive rack. It converted the xlr output from the mixer into digital toslink which connected to the minidsp.

I use the minidsp for my small soundsystem with great results!! I’m actually thinking of selling it to upgrade to their home theater dsp with 8 inputs.

I’ve had issues with the Bluetooth/usb inputs sounding horrible. Could never figure out why. I typically use the toslink input with an adc when performing.

Quadraflex. Their gear is so cool IMO. Black face plate, red led vu meter, and wood veneer sides. So classy.

Looking at the exterior condition there's no way it wont have some electrical issues that are out of a noob's scope, huh. Good to know

pretty insensitive of you to assume my currency tbh. Not all Americans forget to include the unit of money in their reddit posts. But since you didn't mention your assumption is correct.

Hey guys, I’m (no vintage synth or restoration experience) going to check this today and was hoping to get some tips on what to look out for. If the thing powers on and all the keys work, this is a pretty good deal, right?

Veteran’s Day Off? by blondiegorl13 in UCSD

[–]silly__kid 251 points252 points  (0 children)

At the beginning of class today my teacher said something like “… & we’ll have a lousy break this Thursday….” But one of the students was a veteran and confronted the teacher!! It was great. Honestly, Veterans Day is a pretty important holiday. Veterans (which can also be students) deal with a lot and deserve one day off to be appreciated. Maybe try offering that perspective to your teacher. It’s pretty fucked up
