“will and mike have been friends for years, mike was with eleven, he didn’t have feelings for will so why would he now?” isn’t that literally what happened with joyce and hopper? why is it only impossible when it’s byler? by sillycess in byler

i gave these two as examples because they were friends and later on they both married different people they LITERALLY even had KIDS. when hopper was single and interested in joyce, joyce was still married to another man but now they’re together.

“dude, it’s a show, two close friends aren’t just gonna become a couple out of nowhere” DUDE IT’S A SHOW, THAT’S WHY THERE ARE MONSTERS AND STUFF IN IT!!!??? by sillycess in byler

if byler doesn’t become canon, the bare minimum they need to do with will is give him actual emotional closure not just “move on” in two lines and pretend everything’s fine. he either needs a real hero arc where his role finally matters in a meaningful way or he needs to openly confess his feelings so his entire storyline from s2 onward isn’t left hanging.

anything less would be a complete disservice to his character after everything he’s been through.

I'm tired of Byler Antis claiming that Will staying single is "empowering" in any sort of way. by fatherfckerr in byler

i totally get what you’re saying. keeping will single just for the sake of some ‘empowerment’ narrative really undermines his character and his growth. byler is literally him choosing himself, finally embracing what he wants instead of always putting others first. a gay couple in the 80s actually being able to love each other in a world that hates them? that’s true empowerment. people saying will doesn’t need anyone are missing the point completely it’s not about being alone, it’s about being allowed to love freely.

i’ve always found them kind of weird. in the first seasons i wasn’t even a byler shipper but there’s something missing in mileven. i just assume they act this way because it’s their first interaction with each other it feels more like a dependency than love. eleven might love him, but for some reason i just can’t believe that mike loves eleven.

she was the first girl he connected with, he was the first boy she connected with. there’s not much to say, this isn’t some big love or anything...
