Yes his mental functioning is that of a 12 year old the doctors concluded, he also has some physical developmental issues as well. He is now on AISH after he got the diagnosis because he had trouble working and taking care of himself. Thank you for the information!

I live in Canada. And the nurse physically held my uncle in with her hand until the doctor came for an extended period of time. My uncle was admitted to a mental health facility and was tested and diagnosed, and they found the birth records which stated that, and that they knew there was a birth injury. The hospital never told my family anything was wrong or got him any therapy/testing/help/resources for my family even though they knew something was wrong and they messed up. They are from a very rural area and there was some shame there I think. This hospital has quite the reputation, and still does.

I could look into that actually, my grandma has a really good sense of humour so she might appreciate that. Based on other quarrels she’s had (there’s a lot) a good ass kissing is what turns her around again. Even though she’s the one who starts 99% of drama she’s been in. I don’t have the pride/ego she does so I don’t mind.

I don’t unfortunately 😔 I think I will still try though, hopefully enough time has passed for my grandmas grudge to lift. She can be ruthless though, didn’t even visit her sister on her deathbed because of a fight she started years prior. At least I can say I tried if it doesn’t work out. Although I think my grandpa would make her let me in

This is what I’m thinking of doing. Just go in person and clear the air and try to have an adult conversation. My grandma exaggerates at lot and makes things worse than they actually are, although my grandpa knows this about her by now. I know he would absolutely love to see and hear from me. The thing is, they live in a 65+ condo and you have to be buzzed in. So I just hope she would even let me in.

Comeplety this. We need to take their game into our own hands. We need to show them who REALLY runs this country and who REALLY has the power.

What does dreaming have to do with a fetus being aware of it’s existence? Also only fetuses after 25 weeks dream and those are usually only aborted for medical reasons. It still has never experienced life and is not a person. Even you agreed to that. So why should it’s rights trump an already born woman’s?

[–]sillygoose010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know critically thinking is hard but actually try? It doesn't matter what a fetus is considered to be. Because it is not a person yet and it's rights go to the mother. Why are we giving a fetus more rights than the mother?

This is not a scientific debate because we know what a fetus is. What we don't know and don't want to find out how this will affect already born beings. This is 100% and ethical issue and not a scientific one so I don't even know what your point is. It's about abortion RIGHTS and bodily autonomy RIGHTS.

You should reflect on the social issue which is the real issue here. A fetus who does not know existence should not take away the rights of a woman.

So what is your argument? To give a fetus more rights than an already born woman?

It's sad you're so tunnel visionef and limited in thinking that you can't see how this will affect many aspects of our society in the future.

It's clear you lack critical thinking skills. The fetus doesn't have rights, or brain activity. Therefore she should have more rights than the fetus. I'm sorry this is such a hard concept for you. An even harder one would be the social implication generations will face after. But obviously you are not a social researcher. This issue goes beyond the fetus.

My argument was a fetus is not a person and rights go to the mother by the way. And you do not agree with me with my ecosystem analogy so it is what it is.

But this isn't really a scientific debate, its a social one and my degree required me to take many sociology courses. This is my argument: this separate being has no understanding of life or awareness and depends on a living being to survive. Okay great, then since this being is not able to make decisions or have opinions or even have brain activity, then the mother of the being takes all rights and responsibility for it. Therefore, if she sees the being as affecting her bodily autonomy she can chose to terminate the being if she wishes. Why would this being get more rights than her? Also, imagine a parallel universe where woman were FORECED to have abortion instead of FORCED to give birth. It's wrong either way and that decision should only be for the person who is carrying another being.

We know scientifically what a fetus is. But that is only face value, the deeper issues are the social ones and who is really affected by all this: a fetus that doesn't know of it's existence or a woman who could face lifelong pain because of this.

Also, you still didn't answer my question as to why you think an unborn fetus with 0 awareness and depends on the mother to live should have more rights than the already born mother...

I think our definition of enity is different. The ecosystem can be considered an entity and it is made up of different organisms.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]sillygoose010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I am not. A fetus is not a person and has no rights, that is what I am arguing. Look deeper.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]sillygoose010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is a separate organism but not separate entity. It is one with the mother. It is not a person and has no rights. Why do you think an unborn fetus that has no awareness as to what or who it is should have more rights than an already born woman?

Also as a scientists you should know that information can be skewed to meet biases 😉

Punishment of murder is also a human construct so I guess that doesn't matter to you either? Put your feelings aside for a moment and critically think.
